Victory 4x4 Blitz sliders

I just got done installing my Victory 4x4 Blitz sliders and thought I’d share a little bit about these since I haven’t seen anyone else post about them. Mine arrived Friday, which put them right at 5 weeks from order to arrival, which isn’t bad at all for a new product and powder coating. The were packed on a pallet very well. I didn’t get to snap an as packaged picture since my wife was ready to dive into unpacking them, lol. The wrapping on each part did a great job of protecting it as all my parts arrived undamaged.





Right now there are no instructions specifically for the Blitz sliders on their page, just a video link to the Strike slider install video. This video is great for installing them on the truck, but the Blitz sliders require an extra step of installing the lights and brackets, which is different from Strike. I ended up using the video from the Blitz 4Runner sliders to cover this part, then switched back to the Strike Tacoma video to install them on the truck and it worked out well.

A few notes from the install:

- Check over your hardware very closely. I was missing a couple of the 1/2” nuts, which was no big deal, I can get those easy. However, I was also missing the plates that slide into your crossmember for one of the front attachment points. Luckily we figured a solution from extra parts I had in my garage, otherwise we would have been SOL and the install would have had to stop.
- Make sure you pay attention to the install video and how the brackets are oriented. The smaller bracket with the angled leg goes in the front, and the larger bracket goes in the back. Per the 4Runner Blitz video you mount the brackets to the most forward set of holes on each side.
- The 4Runner Blitz video shows you how to mount the grommets that hold the lights into their metal bracket. This was one of the painful parts of the install, literally, since my hands hurt afterwards from wrestling them in. I ended up using a small skinny screwdriver as a pry tool to make it a little bit easier.
- There’s a part in the install video where @monkeyevil says “This part will suck and I apologize for that” in reference to the front bolts where you have to reach them up inside the frame. He’s not lying, it definitely sucks. Luckily my friend with small hands who owed me a favor was able to get them in there, so plan appropriately.
- Overall the Strike install video is spot on as far as attachment points on the frame and moving stuff out of the way as needed to install.
- Do the drivers side first, it has the lines and other stuff that has to be moved out of the way, so get the more difficult side done first.
- Have help on hand. We ended up having 4 people around, which was too many at some parts, but during the actual fitment phase having a couple guys lift the slider up and a couple working the bolts was great. All in all it took us about 3 hours with figuring out stuff along the way.

I still need to add the optional drilled holes so I can use the hi-lift points and wire the lights, but I ran out of steam after spending all day yesterday putting on the BP-51 kit. Overall I’m very pleased with them as they are well built and work great as a step in addition to being a fully functional slider.

 

We are actually finishing up that Tacoma Blitz video now, sorry it wasn't ready yet! And those grommets are horrible, sorry. It's easier if you heat them with a heat gun, but doable without.

 

No worries, I know your guys stuff well enough to put the 2 videos together and make it happen! I assumed I might be on the bleeding edge of installing these. Next time I will wait on my friends to come over and have them do the grommets, lol.

I got them on their intro pricing, so it was $890 with powder coating.

 

I finally got around to doing the light wiring last weekend, it went pretty well. I used a standard setup with a relay and CH4x4 switch. Also added the @DSIM DomeRock module so that they light up with the doors/keyless entry as well. Happy with how they turned out.

 

A little hard to tell but can you hilift off of them?

 

Yes, they come with HiLift cutouts on the side in both front and back. There are a couple optional holes you're supposed to drill to use them for that purpose, but I haven't gotten that far yet.

How do they work as steps? They seem a bit close to the door sills.

 

I would like to see some pictures of the coverage under the truck. They look great, how will they function? I might need a set of these!

 

They actually work pretty good as steps. My kids use them to climb right in and out of the truck, and they work fine for me when I remember to use them for that, lol. Usually I just step in over them.

I agree, they are some of the best looking. Though I do wish they were just a tad longer, just seems like they start too late and end too early, add 2 inches of length to them and they would be perfect to be so close to the wheel wells.
