It’s hard to find someone that can do any auto work up to a standard at times, let alone someone who routinely installs 6” lifts.

Keep in mind that you’re gonna have one hell of a time:
    • Parking a Tacoma with a 6” lift on Oahu because of ceiling height in garages
    • Passing recon on Oahu
I think they look badass, but it’s a ton of work and special needs.

Currently being upgraded One @ a time
    6 inch lift
Bigger tires need to gear up or down
    Bit more expensive
    Garages problems

    3 inch
It looks the same as a stock truck
    I think not much difference

If you think a truck with a 3” lift on 33s looks the same as OEM, you’ve made up your mind and shouldn’t be asking questions

I don’t think my truck looks stock at all with a 3” lift. :smokertransformer:

doing a 6" lift can get a little messy.

cutting the subframe without a plasma cutter sucks...I actually haven't see anyone weld in a brace that works with the diff either to maintain some of the original support.

more parts to install = time and the one truck with a 6" lift I worker on, getting the diff into position was not fun.

the decision of "what" you want should be established so working out the "how" can be addressed.

Cutting the rear cross member is actually easier with a long blade reciprocating saw. Makes a nice straight clean cut. It even worked really well on the BMC You be really surprised how thin and easy to cut these frames are.
But yes the first step is deciding on what you want!

Actually Servco will take it in on trade like any other Tacoma. They just won't give you any extra for the parts.
Dealers on the mainland actually sell 6" lifted Tacoma's. It's not a scary Frankenstien thing any longer. As people learn more about these lifts the misconceptions are being ruled out. If done correctly it's great!

YMMV. Servco obviously will take any Toyota they can get their hands on, but that’s isn’t the case back here. Dealers here actually asked a buddy of mine to return his truck to stock before he traded his 17 for a 19 (dude had a legit lemon).

I guess it’s the only time Servco is easier:rofl:

For some, especially if you don’t plan on going off road, know how to maintain UCAs, CVS, etc.

That depends more on the wheel size, not the tire. Especially the offset and backspacing of the wheels. My 275 wide tire is perfectly flush with the fender because I'm using a 17x8.5 wheel with 0 offset. That's with a 275 tire... those 12.50" tires equal about a 315. That's HELLA wide for these trucks dude. Made much worse by the fact that they're M/T (Mud Terrain) tires... AND that you're considering a cheap spacer lift. This is red flags left and right. There is no need IMO to go any wider than 285 with these trucks. You will quickly find out why if you do go bigger.
