That's probably fair. The OWA is perhaps incrementally better, but since it isn't stand out good to me, I'll take the easiness of the WSR in this case - especially once value/availability is factored in :D.

Glad you got your hands on a bottle, though. Have to try it at least once. Save a little until you land some Weller 12 so you can make some Poor Man's Pappy!

My brother and I made some moves in a private group for trading/acquiring whiskey :D.

I am surprised that everyone is having so much trouble finding OWA. I seem to run across it about once a month. Now, I do have to stand in line for about an hour for the liquor store to open their weekly shipment. Ohio’s bourbon selection is really weak, so I figured if I can get it here, it should be easily available in other states.

Very good stuff. I went through two bottles and should probably start searching for a third.

it's been on my list for a long time. store owner brought it from another store for me. said they get it occasionally. most places around here it is allocated and never hits the shelves.

That's crazy isn't it? It wasn't but a year ago that it could be found around me just about everywhere, but now it's MIA.

surprisingly, i see the allocated stuff all over the secondaries, but nothing for the American Whiskey Michter's. it just doesn't exist. not sure if it's phasing out or what? or it's a true underground drinker...

Not my favorite but it was pretty good. Buddy got it as a gift and we smoked some ribs and drank the bottle a few weekends ago. 81D45347-4D2F-4876-9783-5EF30D66E184.jpg

One if the things I like about this thread is hearing real experiences and impressions of whiskey/whisky/Scotch/bourbon. There are so many to choose from out there it's nice to read about what you guys like and what it is you like about them.

On the other hand, you guys like a lot of stuff and I keep buying it! Y'all had me look to see if that Michters was available around here (sometimes I secretly wish not, as I have a ever growing collection and am rapidly running out of space). Sure enough, BevMo had several.... guess what happened next? At least they price matched TW. It's now keeping my other Michters company until I work my way to it. It has a lot of good reviews!
