Thanks brother. I hope I can do so. My girlfriend has expensive tastes (primarily in eating at restaurants) but other than that, I try to put away as much as I can so the taco, STI, Type R and Vette life can become a reality :)

I have an access cab and have two small kids. I love the looks of a access cab and bed space but it’s getting pretty tight back there for them already.

My next one WILL be a double cab no doubt. But most likely SB to retain current wheel base. I will likely pair it with a bed extender and be on my way.

Truth is, beds are more versatile than cabs.

My vote: Keep your current truck. Just my .02

Appreciate the .02. Not that having a kid is the ideal situation right now, I’d love to get on board and have a family in the next 3-5. If the dcsb is the better option I’ll stick to it and buy the bed extender and mob plates.

Will miss a 6MT, but maybe I’ll luck out and buy this 03 IS300

After a recent trip to Moab where there was torrential downpour and high winds and I was getting crushed in my ground tent, thinking “I should be sleeping in the bed of my truck under a cap.” I’ve been contemplating pretty much the exact same thing. I got the dbl cab for the whole possibly of having a kid in the next ten years reason as well. The back seats are pretty bad unless you are a kid. So trading them out for more bed space is a good trade off in my opinion, especially if you rarely have more than one passenger. Plus who really wants more than your chick, dog or best bro in your vehicle anyways? As far as the dirt bike situation, I just leave the tailgate down and use an extra ratchet strap through the back wheel it works fine. If you hit a big bump occasionally the tailgate will bounce. I got the relentless tailgate reinforcement. Probably not necessary since dirt bikes are pretty light but good piece of mind and I like the looks better anyways and that it’s flat. The Mobtown is sweet as well. Probably a bit stronger too since it’s got ribs in it. You could also go with one of those trailer hitch dirt bike haulers. They don’t look as cool but they are easier to load and free up space in the bed. All that being said I don’t think I’m gonna trade mine in as I only owe $11,000. If I was 24 as opposed to 35 I might consider it more strongly. Anyways good to know someone else is having this dilemma. Haha! Good luck!

After owning a few Tacomas (8) including an AC, the AC doesn’t hold its value as well as the DCs do, but I think you need to do what will make you happy rather than ask a bunch of strangers for advice ;) good luck

Right lol, I came across a manual Acura TL Type S at the same time too. It’s a tough choice, want one of them? Lol

I had a 2002 is300 MT that I’m still kicking myself for getting rid of like 8 years ago. I loved that car

No joke, I had an 04. It was the bomb.com and I thought i should upgrade to something faster. Little did I know it was a pretty fun car with loads of aftermarket capability

+1 for keeping it. Access Cab is lame. They are probably giving you a good deal because no one else wants it.

If you want financial advise, keep the truck.

Keeping the current vehicle is normally the best financial choice.

And I agree with others: cab space usually trumps bed space. You can always put things in a bed extender, but you cannot put people in a longer bed.

    Good luck.
