They are expensive, but on the flip side, they hold their value well.

Oh look another TW thread filled with self righteous people judging and telling people how to spend their money, what a surprise.

There are so many vehicles that are over and way over $70K that are sold every day . People are going to buy them and not blink an eye .

Well ya, just the hipocracy / ridiculousness of people here needing to make threads about it and discussing why and how people should spend their money.

Thank you for coming in and adding NOTHING to the thread. And you spend 70k on a truck because it has a lot more to offer than the Tacoma. Tacoma is a fantastic midsize truck.....so it demands the price of a midsize truck.....now if you are paying $70k for a truck, it better be a full size, V8, tow more, better tech (HID’s/led’s are nice), etc. Obviously some have more some have less. You are comparing a base ecoboost mustang to a GT350R here.

If you actually got the idea of the first post, it has very little to do with anything more than people being willing to spend a shit ton of money on pretty cheap aesthetic mods. It’s not supply and demand, and it’s not a full size truck. It’s useless mods that the dealer bends you over for.

I have a tacoma dude, actually have had 8 of them, what is this 70k vehicle you say I'm comparing something too, I make no reference of any of that...
And oh the hypocrisy in that last statement, this thread added literally NOTHING to this forum, besides letting people get their self righteousness, soap box on, and voice their opinions on whether something is worth it or not or "useless mods". Who cares, you have no idea what they actually paid, nor is it your money or your right to tell them how to spend it. And this isn't exclusive to Tacomas, walk into any Chevy dealer and you'll find rough country base model Silverados marked up, into a Ford Dealer and see a decked out 4cyl mustang, it is what it is and you clearly aren't buying it so why does it bother you so much or matter to you...

This is how capitalism works people. If someone will buy it, then someone will sell it.

Hell. Many people think Tacoma owners way overpay for a 35,000 truck. It’s all relative. Buy whatever you want.

I hear that a lot from full-size types. “Well you coulda bought a full size blah blah blah”

Typically these are the simple minded non towing non hauling people who equate size with quality, and so their opinions rarely matter to me.

If you were to be truthful with yourself, you would realize this thread is a vehicle for espousing condescending opinions. In what universe is someone else’s spending habits any of your business?

Precisely my point, thank you. I get it, human nature to judge, but come on, just shake your head, formulate your own opinion and move on.

    Hahahahahaha!! You mad “dude”????

I’ve probably owned more cars/trucks in 5 years than most have own in a life time.

Look through the thread. Escondido does not negotiate, so I know exactly what they paid. Just like I know how much those mods cost. I also know it’s not saving the warranty other than the spacer......anything else??

Me telling someone, “hey man, you are spending too much on that. You can get it cheaper, at a reputable shop, and it won’t void your warranty” is “self righteous?” Interesting.

There are stupid people in every market, of course, but do you allow them to be stupid, or point them in the right direction? I’ve talked people out of a mustang built like this and got a PAGE LONG PM thanking me. They got more car for their money (mustang cobra forum) and were able to do some actual functional mods for the same price (pulley and tune).

I don’t walk up and tell them they are an idiot, I tell them what I posted in the original post. It’s a gimmick, a package....go google reputable shops around you and do it right.

Funny part about your newest post is that you can’t let it go. Go have a beer and relax! It’s gonna be okay ;)

Fact: The truck is overpriced by A LOT.

Lol, relax!! Hahaha!! You made a HUGE deal about a thread on a forum to someone you will never meet.

I thought they were overpriced. I think anyone who knows the cost would agree, and most people on this thread do. Am I wrong? Talking someone out of a bad decision is not necessarily a bad thing. Am I going to go track down my neighbors and tell them?? No.

Lol, I got stressed reading your original post

And you too! Have a good night :)

Its not just Tacoma's being overpriced. Its the industry as a whole.
To me there is not a car on the road I would pay more than $25000 for.
Its not that I am being cheap. They are going to rust, deteriorate, break down , blow up and for the most part cars are disposable transportation. They fill these things with all kinds of options to drive the price up and I keep thinking we are saposed to drive these things and not be entertained by them. When the warranty is done you are then stuck with outrageous repair bills.
I am done with buying new cars and am looking at restoring a 72 thru 87 models to drive as my daily driver in the future. I am lucky I have the skills to do that. I can fix these cars myself. Ill keep my 17 Tacoma and 14 Sienna as long as I can. I wont waste that kind of money for something that will wear out in 10 years anymore.

Some people have thought my 05 is new so I have that going for me which is nice lol. I have 2018 OR Wheels and a Pro style grille.

There will always be people who pay more for their cars than my current house. More power to em. You can still buy a new TRD Offroad 4x4 for like 35k so quityerbitchin.

Looking at how much 2005 Tacos were back in the day, brand new... $25,250 was the highest priced trim, lol... double cab, 4wd, v6, auto.

Good lord prices have gone up, but still, I think new Tacos are worth every penny. So many improvements over my old 2005.
