This thing really shines from the 3.5k to 5.5k rpm range. With a wide open throttle of course

Shifting from 1 to 2 was already bad, it’s like magnified now with the SC. Should really do the kickdown cable adjustment and hope that fixes it. I’ve always just lived with it.

so the question is, how did the difference feel? Very noticeable?

I've actually never gotten to experience my truck without the supercharger on so I really have no frame of reference with it, which is kind of a shame. I mean I had a 3.4l Prerunner when I was 19 yrs old for a couple years, but that was over 10 years ago.

I was being careful because I didn’t want a speeding ticket.

Honestly? I don’t notice a damn difference. Maybe a teensy bit, the biggest difference is that whine.

And you got the methanol kit hooked up? I mean there should be some noticeable difference lol.
ah yeah you have to really step into it, I dunno how much boost you were at but if you only applied 1 or 2lbs then you're not going to feel much if anything. WOT and you'll get it all almost instantly and you should definitely feel it then. But that 1 - 2 hard shift will probably hurt

Yes, piggyback is the plan down the road. But I have other priorities right now.

I only had the supercharger hooked up and nothing else. I didn’t have time to plumb it all, although the pump and reservoir are in already.

That stuff and the gauges can wait. I have other cars in line that need to be fixed.

My guess is right now with his ecu still adjusting and lacking the meth which he needs it was pinging and pulling timing

Brother in law did the same thing on his H2 and likes it. His isn't charged though.

Don't think the transmissions in those were any more modern than the Toyota transmissions. Transmission stuff sort of goes over my head though... :anonymous:

I didn’t hear any pinging, you say it’ll be blatantly obvious right?

It sounds pretty smooth. If anything my idle is smoother than it was NA.

Pinging is obvious yes, it's a very unnatural sound and you'll know something is wrong when you hear it. But your ECU is still probably adjusting like he said, plus you can still be in lean territory and not hear any loud pinging. Which is why you want a boost/afr gauge to know your #'s.

That clunk you’re hearing is the NA intake sliding around in the bed. I hit a bump.

I’ll have to get all the gauges and meth hooked up first. I just wanted to get it running so I can use it as a truck. I have other cars I can drive, but I’ve needed that truck so often during the last few weeks it’s been down.

You never appreciate how nice it is to have a truck until you don’t have one. I fit my whole apartment into the Mercedes and the Tesla over two weeks, while it took me a single trip in the truck.

Whatever loud clunk you’re hearing is stuff sliding around. Part of it could also be the actual shift, but it’s overpowered by the sound of stuff sliding around.

The Tesla Supercharger station at Kettleman City, California is on a whole other level.

They're certainly a good design, but they're a warmed over version of the old 4L60 and 4L80 of the past. Not very modern, that's just how old the design is, but its a good design

It isn't always obvious, the ECU will pick up small pings first and dial back timing hard to avoid big pings.

With my bed rack/RTT I hardly have any room to use my truck for truck stuff anymore, I miss it in that regard. But at the same time I kind of don't because now I have a good excuse when someone wants me to help them move stuff with my truck.

I did strap a big table across the top of the RTT once, don't really recommend that. The roof rack works well for that though as a tie down spot.

Come on... You and I both know there are about a billion places you could've went within a 3 minute radius to open it up without the possibility of a 'ticket'. You're next to an industrial complex and you're not racing the 500

    have to agree with James...

bottom line though, glad you got the paper towels sorted. nice to see stinkbug running again
