MJT was actually one of the first trails I did with my 04 when I got it a few years ago, a friend of mine talked me into it before I even had a lift on my truck. He had only done it on dirt bikes so he thought it would be easy for a stock truck. It was not. It was fun but I would never recommend it to someone the way he did to me lol. I still don't let him live that down.

    lol.

I left the meet up location for the Miller Jeep Trail empty, if you want to put in where the best place to meet up for that is. I don't know what direction its usually run in, and where a good meetup point would be.

I’m in for MJT. My truck is at the shop right now, but I should have it back in time for this.

I've heard that MJT is kind of technical but not as difficult as Gold Mt. Your heartbreak description matches that. We did Heart Break in the snow/mud and I didn't even have a locker so I'm assuming basic armor and good spotting? Never done it before though. Definitely interested. I'm not familiar with the are though. Does it get hot out there? :notsure:

Best to run it from bottom to top, so we would actually be doing Lockwood Canyon first which takes you to the base of Miller Jeep Trail. That's how it's typically done anyhow, if you start from the other direction you'll be going downhill the whole way

I updated the Google doc with a location to meet at for the MJT run, left the start time TBD for now

    I like it.

I'm not a fan of going down hill if I have the option.

Yeah to me Lockwood/MJT is about on par with Gold Mountain, different kind of terrain kind of but it's a good way to describe the difficulty of the trail. If you can do Gold you can do MJT is what I usually tell people, and vice versa.

It can get pretty hot out there in the summer time, it's deep in the mountain/forest area but in the summer time it'll probably be in the 90s. But since MJT is only open May - Sept. it's usually pretty warm or hot whenever we do it.

Using my time at work productively, I came up with the very professional map that shows the Gorman area, the Alikik Campground spot and the Lockwood Cyn/MJT trail...just for frame of reference.

    Hell yeah!
They are planning on running that trail this Saturday. so we can take that part down Sunday! I think from here on out though the monthly meet should be the first page of the GD and any supplemental meets that are being coordinated should go underneath it, just to reduce some confusion lol

about how many miles is the trail in total/ also in reference to how close to nearest gas? I know the desert can be tricky with how far resources are so im wondering if we should be bringing gas cans and such...

I get 200 miles per tank. Made it from Tecate to Valle de Trinidad (130miles?) with plenty of fuel to spare. I think we'll be okay.

Lockwood Canyon and MJT together is about 30 miles of trails, from where Lockwood starts to where MJT ends. Then there's maybe 10 miles tops of fire road to cover to get into Gorman.

I've always just filled up at the Arco (where the meet up spot for MJT is) and been totally fine for the whole trail into Gorman. Never needed to bring extra gas. Once you're in Gorman, there are several gas stations outside of the park since it's off the 5 freeway and there are a few towns along there, Frazier Park being one of them.

Oh I have no idea then lol, I don't want to confuse anyone...I thought they were planning on trying to do Palomar this weekend. @Norsemanvike is heading up that run, maybe he can confirm

edit: looks like that's for a Cleghorn trip so I really have no clue now, I'm going to stay out of it haha.
