I’ve ran these tread Wright’s in the past on a few different rigs usually got 40-45k out of them. For the price it was worth it. They also have a little discount 7% off right now.

Any idea what could have caused this?

 

Must be a dying idler or the tensioner, because no charge issue, and no PS issue either. I marked the idlers when I got home, and they all moved, so I guess one of them must be binding up. It was all clean last week. The smooth side of the belt is only facing the surface of the idlers.

 

Dang man, hope you find the smoking gun so you can swap belts and not have to worry about it in the future.. that doesnt sound fun

 

@Oldie2007 you have any chirping or squeaking noises when you turn the truck on? I think you could be onto something with the binding idler theory.. If one of those seized up, it'd start creating a lot of heat and i could see it chewing the smooth side of the belt up.. inadequate tension on the belt could also cause this though.. i've had similar issues with my s/c chewing up belts

 

Way back when I did the fan, I would get a quick thump and grind - particularly if it had sat for a week. Mostly, it seemed to go away with the fan. Then, once a month, a while ago, it started again, but only a quick thump. So, I did the drive belt with a new one, because it was still OEM. No problems, and I've been driving it a little more. This month, it' has had a few more sits, and it came back, but I never saw anything "not moving".
I picked up a new belt on the way home, but I will let them find out which one it is. If it's not horrible, I may have them replace them all.

Never heard of them but I can hear them now. That tread looks like it would wear out fast and ride terrible.

 

Take milam 965 north to Reese Rd left turn then right on 2323 then left on co.rd 110 from there you can take 110 or 109 it goes around big ass mt. It's all dirt Rd

Hows the ride noise tire life

 

The ride is fine, noise is acceptable, and I only have them for 6000 miles, so no idea about life. Still have the nubbies!
That tread doesn't look exactly like mine but the description is the same. Matt's seen them up close.

 

You have a more conservative tire comparatively not a straight up tank track though.

 

Yeah, odd that is would have exactly the same name - but maybe that is what they look like now. The pictured thread is not what I have, and looks like it would be noisy....
