I added "Max 8 for MJT Group" on the Google Doc where our names go...if we exceed 8 people that are interested then we can discuss dividing the group into 2 and doing different start times. This trail in particular is very narrow most of the way and a lot of steep switchbacks along big drop offs, so we don't want to create a bunch of traffic especially if there are other groups out there that day.

It's still over a month out, but if you're committed to going hop over to the Google doc and put your name down so we can plan out start time(s) eventually.

At some point over summer I'd like to run this trail and camp where Lockwood Canyon/MJT meet. It's a big canyon with a lot of shade and a wash (probably a small river right now) that runs through it. It's a really cool place to camp, done it once before. But it's not very big so it would have to be a smallish camping group. Maybe we can do that later in the summer.

Im free most of the second half of July, mid august doing the rubicon. Will probably keep the first two weeks of august to looking over things n taking it easy before hand.

Ahh I want to do the Rubicon someday. Wish it wasn't so far north but could probably make a Tahoe trip out of it one of these days.

Yeah, planning on camping up the 395 on some easier trails, then the con...will be good to finally get the truck on that trail. Ive been wanting to do it ever since my buddy took his jeep rubicon on it.

Wonder if there will still be some snow up there even in the middle of summer, they got hit way hard with snow this year. Still did even last week I think.

A trail that is comparable to the Rubicon but closer is the Dusy Irshim trail near Fresno Ca

I've run this trail many times and it's a nice trail and takes 2 days to complete

Yeah I know a group on here that ran that last year, looked like a good time with a lot of trail damage to report haha @theesotericone

Seems like the kind of trail you have to bring spare axles, ball joints, tie rods and other likely-to-break spare parts on.

I don't think my truck is quite ready for a trail like that, or maybe it's me that isn't. Probably a bit of both. Someday though

As for the Rubicon I've run this trail also many times and had alot of fun but the Forest service has destroyed ( made easier) the famed little sluice

Another trail near this is the Fordyce Creek trail that CA4WDC holds its annual Sierra Trek on eas year

I have not, just googled some images of it though and it looks like a cool area. I haven't done much offroading down south, I mostly stick around the mountains out here and north of here. I'll look into more though!

Its held every year the first week in March

The Con has been a bucket list run for me and that trip it's getting awfully close awfully quick! Should be a good time though as long as we bring enough spare parts.

Any good trails out there? I've been through that area countless times but never wheeled.

The Rubicon is my favorite trail

Los Coyotes has awesome trails from 2wd roads to areas you'll need lockers front and rear
