Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I feel like it would be easier to just go into 4wd lol

 

In some Offroad scenarios, using 4wd would do nothing but break something in the driveline so just having a locked rear in 2wd would be very beneficial

 

what scenario would that be?

 

So I don’t think I had the “stutter” but I figured why not try the updated tables anyway. I can always tune it back.
....... surprisingly the truck is shifting closer to like it should within its powerband.. Still high gearing at 40 but less pedal and lugging. Could be still learning but who knows..

 

Usually where you need to be able to steer hard, it’s uncommon but it does happen. I’m sure you know what happens when you try to steer hard while in 4Lo

 

@Shellshock it’s a locker. ANYTIME. What’s not to get?

I mean. There are so many uses for a locker ANYTIME. When I’m crawling over those curbs and parking stops, I don’t want to have any issues.

 

maybe we can wire up the button to a lighted sign in the back window that says "I'm 2wd locked and you aren't!" get some more bro points

Well the bed is quite empty now..but loaded, lifted, 33’s and 4.88’s with 91 base tune.
I’m still slowly figuring out how to drive this truck (not my daily) ECT on and S4 before hills and ECT off when I feel like she’s ready to cruise in 6th.

Over the 84 ish mile trip, I averaged 18.5 mpg to the top of our camping trail. Pretty fricken stoked on that. Especially after driving 20 mph up a windy ass hillside following some slow Honda CRV for 25 minutes.

I as well didn’t have the stutter. Flashed to 1.5.1, it worked well. But after I had an issue with my throttle body (NOT related to OVTune) I decided to stick with 1.5. I’m not sure if Mat updated the tune when he did 1.5.1 but the truck seems to be happy with 1.5 and is shifting fine and not lugging out. No ect on

We are also working on an all new logger and will be offering some custom tuning as needed for trucks after 2.0 is released.

Also.. we are getting more requests from people who are interested in tuning only the transmission and not touching the engine side. We are considering offering a TCU only flash, which modifies the transmission with our custom code but leaves everything else stock.

 

since @MOC221_ hasn't asked yet... any info about the 2.0 MT tunes coming soon?
