I hear the mall in Lanesboro/Pittsfield is a ghost town .

The Hadley mall is mostly filled with things to do, not places to shop. The stores closed, now there is indoor karting, bowling, laser tag, movies, karate for kids, and roller skating.

Its not even open anymore I don't think. Total shit show, half the time it was open before it shut down there wasn't power or water and they would have to close for the day. Target is there and owns its section of the building, as well as the movie theater is still going I think.

Guy is a grade-a scum bag who owns it. He has a long history of scummy moves with malls and owes taxes all over the country from what the papers are saying.

Sure is. I think the only things in there now are Target and the cinema.
So sad to see how it has all been handled.
I think the city is starting to have a rebirth from it though. New restaurants/businesses have opened.
Like everything else, the pendulum swings.

I think they have a ways to go before you could call what's going on there a "rebirth". There have been a few more local stores moving in the area which is good, but only like two that I have seen in the last few years outside of the mall. Now that the mall doesn't really exist, where do they go? They go to other towns. They are also about to have to raise their taxes again when they finally cave and build a new police station. Their taxes are already super high for what you get, and they just lost a local dedicated ambulance service last year too I believe.

I think there is a move in the county towards more "mom and pop" local stores, and I think that's good. I just am not so optimistic about the situation in Lanesboro. There are community factors that I think hold that whole town back, and its bred deep into their mentalities. When you get to school with the kids from their town they are already hating the other towns and are "victims" of their situation. This attitude continues for their whole lives, and does not help the area imo. *I'm sure there are plenty of posititve people in town and I know a few, but they seem to get their voices crowded out by the idiots*

    Sooooo

While thinking about this went back to iberkshires and read the comments on the "gray raven farm" moving to lanesboro. There is a comment on there from someone claiming to be their previous landlord saying they skipped out and owe him 60k in back rent. No idea if that's true, but if it is, I feel like that will stop that business from getting too far. Hopefully it isn't true though.

60k is a lot of money for renting a home on a farm. I am hoping it's a typo and supposed to be 6k or something. Either way, sun is supposed to be here this afternoon and stay all weekend so I'm happy!

Mind if I ask how much that setup cost? I'm looking to do something similar, but haven't made it out to Ondrick's or Chicopee Mason to price it out.

$200 at Lowe’s for the kit. That includes the bricks and fire ring. I spent about $45 on gravel and $12 on the river stone
