I had read somewhere that they shouldn't be left in direct sunlight (used to keep mine mounted to the roof rack) that was when I put it in the cab, but it might be okay outside the truck.

I have solid, metal, and quality horns made in the U.S.A. that were originally in >$50,000 American Land Yachts.

Ya really want to put $20 plastic Chinese crap in there?

Don’t you have an intact ‘C’ horn from the other set you can use?

After watching that incredibly long factory tour video, I have a whole new respect for these things. Lets just say if I was setting up a production line for these today, I wouldnt need half the employees/inspectors they had. Computers would be doing it all. But every. single. horn. was inspected by hand at some point or another.

Bed? I keep that shit mounted under my seat. I’ve been meaning to get one of those quick releases that mount on the seat rails.

I’d love one of those Halon extinguisher systems plumbed to the engine bay too.

nah I'm not changing my horns, I'm fine with the one in my 04.

Just being cheeky, I've got no qualms with anyone wanting to upgrade their horns. Successful business models have been built on everything from upgrading gas cap holders to valve stem caps, people wanna spend their money and someone should absolutely be doing something to profit off it

Link? I’d love to watch it. Delco-Remy still exists, but they only make starters now. If you go to the junkyard you’ll see these horns all the way up to mid-2000’s GM SUV’s, Vans, and trucks. Although by that point they realized what true American excess is and only installed one ‘F’ horn.

Interesting to note how many other companies besides GM used these. Even Thomas Busses, which is down the street from where I work.

I really have to give the third gen Gasshole guy some props, what an ingenious solution to such a mundane problem.

For what it’s worth, the Tacoma horns changed in 2001-2004. The 1995-2000 horn (singular) is nothing like what you have in your truck. You actually have a normal respectable set of Hi/Lo Horns. My horn was a dinky little “meep meep” road runner sounding horn.

90 in a 65 would get your license revoked here. 20 over in a 70 would still land you in a lot of crap.

90 in a 65 is called Monday Morning here.

Seriously, I’ve cruised along CHP officers doing 80 and it’s absolutely normal. It seems speed limits are suggestions here.

Meanwhile when I was in the South, I wouldn’t dare going 2 miles over the speed limit. I see those troopers and their speed traps.

5 over is pretty acceptable here. But the rumor is that 7 over or more is the magic number for you to get popped. Doesn't stop people from going much much faster, but every now and then the police/sheriff will announce on social media that they're gonna pull people for doing 2 over or more for a set time period on certain roads/areas. And they don't lie neither. It keeps people in check.
