Better found today at the oil service than this weekend on the C&C and Triple C road trip. If I paid "extra" for next day delivery, it's costing the same. So, another 200K project. Got to be one of the idlers, because it's killing smooth side of the belt, and it's an intermittent lock, because I marked all the pullies and they move. So, best thing is do all of them.

they're playing hopscotch in Houston it's been sitting in Houston for 3 days I'm already getting fed up with FedEx

Yes they make 2” square tubing in different wall thickness which changes the price. A full 24’ x 1/4” wall is around $80
I have a bunch of drops and probably got a piece 6’ long

When were they supposed to be delivered? You have some bad luck with fedex

 

Tried to email the new kid, but it isn't set up I guess. I will call him first thing, and tell him to PLAN TO REPLACE, and get the parts if he doesn't have them.

well the feed showed up on Monday but the bars the guy shipped in FedEx and yeah they've been floating around Houston for like the last 3 days

I'm trying to go back Saturday after work to camp.

 

Has it ever done this in the past or did this all start right after it was changed last week?

 

I did this before, but that's OK.
Loud noises over a year ago prompted me to replace the T'stat fan with the E-Fan. After sitting, one loud clunk, a brief grind. If driven daily, no such noise. After replace of fan, much better. Occasional clunk, no grind.
About a month ago, the clunk was more prevalent, always after sitting a week, but sometimes after only a day. Belt is 196K old, looks it. I did do the replacement on the belt. All the pullies moved for me no issue. And I moved the truck more often after doing so. Once I let it sit, I got just the clunk back.
No squeals, no complaints, no power Steering issue, no alternator issue, and the alternator is only 3 years old. Last week, before the speaker work, I was underhood doing stuff, and no wear at all on the belt.
So, today when they told me, I didn't believe it - but it is down to the wire core of the belt on the smooth side - grooved side is beautiful. Only the smooth side runs over the idler pullies, and I marked them all, and watched them move. So, at some point, one of them must freeze, and I can't hear it over highway noise. Small rubber all over inside. So if one is bad, intermittently, another will go, so they all must go!
