SO I'm on my 3rd tacoma, i had the 2017 sport, 2018 trd offroad 4x4 and 2019 trd offroad 4x4.

in this video i show the features that were lost in 2019 and the features that were added.

    added:
    - Auto locking tail gate.
    - Shift knob is no longer like SR5 knob
    - Steering wheel feels like it's leather wrapped. prior models, the sport was leather wrapped, the trd offroad was not
    - Transmission shifts a lot better now, it's no longer jumpy

    lost:
    - large pocket in the bed is gone
    - Compass in the mirror is gone

I have a 19 OR and it doesn't have an auto locking tail gate, is that an optional feature?

I think that might be a regional thing like thru Southeast Toyota.

I know I was missing the storage box and gopro mount but I'll have to check if I have a compass or not. I traded my 16 for the 19.

no clue but it's a sweet feature. i hated the manual lock on my previous one espcially with the tailgates being picked up by thieves

This is most definitely wrong if you are talking U.S. trucks (remember I've had a few more than you before you go down that route/argument).

-auto locking tail gate is a SE region add on and has been available from 16 probably earlier gens as well (basically pop and lock brand)
-shift knob was never the same as the SR5 in the TRD trims, and has been unchanged from 16-19 for the TRD models (I've had a 17 and 19 TRD OR, 19 TRD Sport, all the same knob, my 16 SR5 lacked the leather)
    - again the steering wheel has been unchanged, same leather across the entire TRD lineup and years, only thing that changed was the added TSS lane departure button 18+
    - homelink was added for 19 on tech/prem package to the mirror

i have tech package, i don't have homelink.
my shift knob and steering wheel is completely different than my 2018 trd offroad ... i hated my shift knob on the 2018 trd OR that i even changed it to the TRD pro one.

my steering wheel on 2018 also sucked.. it was all plastic/rubber just like my 2015 rav4. My 2017 Taco Sport was leather wrapped. This one the 2019 is much softer and feels like leather wrapped.

    what is SE region?

Dude you are very wrong, I'm sorry, either you didn't have a legit TRD OR or something else maybe a TSS Offroad?..I've had 5 3rd gens, SR5, TRD Sport and a few TRD ORs. Please don't make me prove you wrong with google images. And homelink is a "tech and premium" feature, you probably just have the tech only package.

Almost sounds like you had a SR or SR5 before.

That's what I'm thinking, SE region has an SR and SR5 TSS Offroad package.

Okay, but I'm sure others will confirm you are very wrong on the steering wheel and shift knob changes, sorry dude but wrong, a quick google search will confirm no changes to the steering wheel and shift knob like you mention, not to mention personal experience, might be in your head. Just wanted to correct you before you post videos with incorrect information. The pop and lock is also not a standard feature from Toyota that is a regional accessory / option.

well then maybe i got lucky... they ran out of the OR shift knob and steering wheel and hooked me up with the nice ones.

believe what you want to believe..but that's how my truck is. you might be right with the builds, but maybe deviations happened in the factory who knows!. hehe.

    no complaints from my side.

Do TRD OR come with leather wrapped steering wheel?? my 18 didnt. usually the window sticker also mentions it but none of my extras are mentioned on the window sticker.

That wouldnt happen dude, Toyota QDR, Kaizen, heard of it? Your 18 must have been a lemon or a regional package, but the changes you mentioned are not legit changes.

    Shift knobs:

Note no difference amongst the 17, 18 and 19 TRD but the 17 SR5
