Cutting them off and doing new ones seems like a bad idea. At that point just SAS it IMO. But I’m probably wrong.

Read from here on through the next couple pages - really common solution are Deaver E30's, Total Chaos front spring hangers and 12" shackles,

    https://www.chaosfab.com/1996-2004-Toyota-Tacoma-Off-Road-Suspension-Accessories.html

a 1st gen Tundra rear axle, and 16" triple bypasses.

    Here's some more info:

So there’s no sense in going sua with the current axle and shock location?

Tundra axle gets your shocks outside the frame for better performance and bed space but current shock location will limit the travel you could achieve with sua.

Looks nice. They do good work, but only room for the one beer is unacceptable. Ditch one of the spares so there’s room for a cooler.

@Dalandser so there wouldn’t be enough of an advantage to sua with the shocks below the frame? Eventually my plan is to do what your describing but am trying to do as much as I can in steps, right now I can afford the sua kit but not the shocks/cage so I’m just trying to keep up progress

No it would still be an advantage as far as getting better up travel numbers, but travel would be limited by the length of the shock in that location. Totally fine going in stages.

Ok gotcha, thanks for the advice. Right. Now I’m leaning towards the TC shackles hangers and the f67 springs along with ditching the racerunners and replacing with equivalent sized kings. Do you recommend a certain vendor for those parts?

Can I put my King bump stops in the pinch bolt style mounting cans?

I would just rebuild the SAWs and save until you can get 16" kings. F67's have a tendency to flatten and lose ride height - E30's are highly recommended. I just put them on my truck and it sits nicely. TC can be ordered through a bunch of companies - I just drove over and picked up my stuff directly. SDHQ is a good company to order from if you don't want to pay state tax.

Better performance when shocks are outside of the frame? Whys that? Is there any difference when mounting a rear shock leaning towards the front vs towards the rear?

@Dalandser I could probably swing the 16”s fairly soon but my lack of welding abilities would jam me up on the bed cage solution that’s why I’m trying to postpone that phase

Why would that be a bad idea??? Cut em off and make new ones out of 1/4" plate...oh darn you have to triple check some alignment measurements big whoop...

Everything has to get welded in the sua conversion - the only difference the bed cage will have is whether you have the ability to bend tube or not as far as I can see from what you're saying?

Yeah I understand that the sua needs to be welded I just meant the tube/bed shocks seems more involved for me to accomplish
