    I think its a non issue as there is little to no deflection. @JustDSM tested the gears with a spare chain he had purchased. I'd rather not change the teeth as it will make for a weaker gear. My thoughts are URD gets the gears made in a bike sprocket shop and they did the teeth that way outta habit and not necessity.

    Regarding the teeth, there are manufacturing specifications for them. Do we know if Toyota follows JIS standards B 1801, B 1802, and B 1803 or a European Spec like ISO R606?

    The URD teeth are the same dimensions as the OEM sprockets. The deflection to concern our selves with is the deflection of the chain at high rpms and the engagement accuracy on the broader teeth face. I think this deserves more conversation. Hopefully, this is nothing as it would much easier to just machine out the key way.

    Personally, if the stock gears are only $25, I'd rather pay a little extra to have those machined rather than find out at high rpms theres an issue with the teeth on these.

    This isn't a bad idea, can you or someone post the link for them at that price? Thinking I'll purchase a set to have ready when I get under the valve covers. This way I don't have to dive deep into the engine possibly twice.

    Looks like the gears and chain follow an ISO R606-1 specification. This calls for a 5.31mm tooth face width. For reference, Stocks are 5.03086mm after 60 thousand miles and the JustDSM's are 5.36mm. Here's some other dimensional information here:
