I don't think having oil spraying on your riding pants, boots and a BMI over 37 is enough of a common interest, but at least they'll know someone else is carry an extra quart of oil and a bottle of Lipitor in their saddle bag.

I feel like wave, don’t wave. To each their own. I don’t think it’s weird either way.

If I wanted middle aged men to wave at me for how I look, I'd just throw on a bikini.

If I waved at all the tacoma drivers here in Asheville / western NC I would develop tennis elbow. I will kindly return a wave but I don't initiate.

I guess I’m a recovering Tacoma Waver.

I expected a Tacoma wave similar to communities of motorcyclists, Jeep owners, etc., but quickly learned otherwise. I would do the finger lift to fellow 3rd Gen Tacomas drivers and got one wave back over the course of several weeks, months here in eastern North Carolina. I eventually stopped waving as much, although I still do it occasionally. My wife constantly gives me grief for waving at so many people. I can’t help it. I grew up in a community where that was the norm, so it’s ingrained in me.

On the other hand, if I encounter another Tacoma owner, say at a gas station, store, etc., I can generally initiate a conversation about Tacomas without any too much weirdness.

I came from a WRX so we all waved at each other. And the friendly biker wave too. Now I don’t get to wave :(

You just have to find a vehicle that other nerds are really pumped about owning. Maybe a dumpeddappercambergang honda civic? Hyundai Genesis?

It may be the ex military side of me but I always feel the need to acknowledge people as the pass head on.
I also feel common curtisy is part of what's wrong with people these days. You never know when holding a door for someone may really make there day.
Round my parts on the back roads it's about 50/50 to give everyone a 2 finger lift.
Tacos and other built toyotas are the only one that get a wave on the highway tho.
The motorcycle wave upside down peace sign, is actually supposed to be 2 wheels down/acknowledgement.
