i have no idea. cali raised were the ones who installed my fog lights i'll have to open things up tomorrow to see how they did everything.

i just had them connect it to a momentary switch then i was going to get a ch4x4 switch later but if it's possible to turn it on using my stock stalk i'd rather do that.

Thought you wanted them OFF when Headlights would be ON (LOW & HIGH)

For now, with an "add-a-circuit", tap into the TAIL fuse.(incab fuse box) the other end of that wire goes to a relay (coil side) pin 86. 85 to ground.
You'll be interrupting the juice going to the fog relay when TAILS are selected turning OFF the FOGS.

Note pin 87 on relay is capped.

If anyone is interested........ my switch ending up being bad.....big surprise coming from China. Had my Brother-in-law check it, and besides solder missing in a few places, there was no way this switch was going to be able to function as I needed. Those that haven't had an issue would you please post a link to the switch you're using? Hate to have to go back through 12 pages again.

For clarification, does this blue wire grounding cause the fog lights to come on with the daytime running lights as well as the running lights and the headlight? Or does the blue light grounding cause the fog lights to come on only for the running lights and headlights?

Today I did the Nitori blue wire method to install my fog lights.

    Notes:

I was able to install the fog lights by reaching through the top while using a short screwdriver on the screw. I did not have to take off the grill or push aside the fenderwell.

I bought off of EBay an unwired connector with pins to fit the stock connector behind the grill. I cut and modified the wiring harness that came with the fog lights. I was able to do all of the wiring from above. I used zip ties to secure the wires. www.ebay.com/itm/1x2-Pin-Connector-For-Toyota-Lexus-Sensor-90980-11156-w-out-wire-/263346121968?txnId=2406194539016

I was able to push out the blank dash switch cover by reaching around from under the dash.

I fished the switch wire around to the steering column. I cut the blue wire. I pulled it from out behind of the black plastic wire cover then connected it to the dash switch wire. I grounded the other switched wire by bolting it to the fuze panel bolt with an additional nut.

Here is a photo showing that you can reach down and install the fog lights from up above without removing anything but the original blank bezel covers. You can also reach the vertical adjustment knob.
    20190425_150723.jpg

The switch that came with the cheap Ebay fog lights kit is..............cheap. It pushes too far into the dash and the bush button gets stuck in the dash hole. I did not bother wiring up the switch light because I figure I will end up trashing this switch. Also the steering wheel blocks the view of the switch and I have the indicator on the dash. I put some bicycle inner tube rubber bands around the base as a temporary fix. If you go with lower end fog lights figure on buying a better switch. I did not need to remove the lower dash. I just removed the steering wheel column covers. I was able to reach up under the dash to push out the switch hole cover.

Ok I’ve got a wrinkle. My SR Is pre-wired, but I plan on using a switch (from CH4x4) since I have no desire to take the steering wheel off.

But as you can see my deck lighting plug isn’t unused. Can I still tap in to those wires for power? Or should I pirate the green and beige wire from the white plug that is unused?

Sure is nice of Toyota to pre-wire for everything...

Just wanted to say thanks for this post, saving me a ton of headaches for sure.

Green and red 1 connect when the switch is pushed, which will ground pin 26 if green is 26 and red 1 is grounded.

Red 2 powers the switch’s light and black grounds the switch’s light.

This also answers the question in my previous post. Green from the deck plug is just to power the switch led and beige is to ground it, so I should still be able to pull power and ground from the deck plug since I’ll be using posi-taps instead of pulling the terminals.

Edit - the other two unused plugs, one would be for a brake controller and the other for the bed power switch, right?

Do you have to replace the factory relay or will the fog lights still work when the low beams are on? Seems like a lot of work just for some fog lights. Lol

Finally finished wiring up my fogs.

I decided to use Positaps to make wiring the switch almost painless.

    3C6A3EBF-4A09-47D4-BB6E-AEB632A30E5F.jpg

The small 18-22ga red and grey taps are the correct size.

    68B5284B-AC63-45CF-A50F-70E35CE9558F.jpg

As mentioned in my previous post, green goes to the 26 wire, red 1 and black to ground on the 10mm bolt under the dash, and red 2 I used another positap from the deck plug for the bed lights.

The fogs turn on, as does the green light on the dash. Thanks to @Nitori for the write up and everyone else who’s added to this thread!

It cost me $505. $596 if you include the intermittent wiper mod.
