Rear shock relocation and frame reinforcement begins tonight! Big thank you to @TMFF for cutting me some frame boxing plates and some other goodies.

I’m currently reading up on pulling the bed and it sounds pretty straightforward. Unfortunately, I have no space at home to pull it or store it, so I’m going to get crafty and pull it and store it at my storage unit.

Anybody have any tips or tricks they want to throw my way before I get this party started?

    then weld.

Make sure you have SOME weight on the back while your cycling. Even with just the main leaf. It'll make a difference. And of course cut some wood block to match the height of the springs.

    Should be good.

What are you doing? Vertical inboard 10'' shocks?

    Thanks, Monte!

Yep. Just the basic setup, which is good enough for me. I have a shit ton of weight plates that I can stack on a platform to push back against the jack, so that should help. And yes, I’m gonna break the pack down, cut some blocks for the missing leaves and cycle the crap out of it. Gonna box and plate the frame first, though.

I’m sure you already knew this, but cycle the axle straight up and down. Articulating it with one wheel drooped and one stuffed doesn’t give the full range of motion for inboard shocks.

    Good luck, take some pictures.

Don't bother cycling :stirthepot:. It's been confirmed enough that a 10" shock fits. Just mount the upper mount as high as possible and weld the lower mount for full droop. Then set bump accordingly.

Precisely what I plan to do. Gonna beef the frame first and then get after it!

According to Sir @Squeaky Penguin (IIRC) the shocks at full bump and full droop are all you will need as the leaf pack will never get as high/low again due to binding.

Also @jubei we seem to be bro's on another project at the same time again my friend.

Well, unfortunately I got rained out last night, so I’m hoping to get going on pulling the tank and evap and crossmembers tonight after work...

Oh you have the evap above the tank? No raising the tank for you... at least not as easily as me.
