Not LEDs like this thread covers, but nice Ultimate H9 Subaru fogs! :) You’ll have to share your impression once it starts to get dark in several months.

Edit: For those wondering what is going on with Subaru fogs, you can check it out starting in post #392 here.

So on an actually related note, I don’t think I’ve seen this discussed yet.

Dropping by my wife’s work I parked next to a second gen. I noticed on the way out that the third gen fogs sit significantly higher. What effect would that have on beam pattern?

Yeah, I've noticed that too. The 3rd Gens front fascia sits a bit higher and the 3rd Gen's front suspension also sits 1" taller over the 2nd Gen, combined making the fogs quiet a bit higher. The beam pattern is the same, just in the 3rd Gen they will be aimed down a little more and if not the fog beam will carry a little further.

lol, I just realized you're local. This is really nice work, thank you.

I put some Laminex yellow filters on my fogs a week ago. Haven't checked to see if the output is green yet. I temporarily blinded myself looking at one after I installed, so there isn't a whole lot of light loss.

Over your LED fogs? Yeah, don't look into them! I accidentally looked into the ORTown fogs at close range, one of my eyes could not see for 10 minutes. I was actually concerned that I had done some real damage. Not cool.

Yeah, they make a kit in various colors for the Tacoma. Looking in the light is a mistake I won't make again, lol.

I was thinking of the amber ones but decided on the yellow to have the least light loss. Nice thing is they are cheap and removable. I might get the amber and try it as well.

I just checked them. Doesn't seem to have a lot of light loss, but definitely projects with a green tint.

Depends on the light color you start with, high color temp blue light with a yellow/amber filter will have a bit of a green tint.

Just installed my KC Ambers. Will see how they look tonight. Definitely loving the amber color KC has.

My work just replaced the overhead florescent lighting with LED lighting. It's very bright, and my job requires me to look up often. I may need to start wearing sunglasses to work.

It appears that way, @Onwarrds sent his in and had them changed from white to selective yellow. A noticeable difference though, is that the white Rigids were already an SAE fog pattern light, whereas Bajas were not. So people are talking about changing the color on Rigids vs changing the pattern on Baja.

Yes! I did send mine in to swap to selective yellow. I had the white Rigids with the amber covers on before and while they were a nice improvement over stock I always wanted the selective yellow for the higher output. I felt like the output decrease from the amber covers was defeating the purpose of running high output lights in a way.

I like the selective yellow color so far. I understand how people say they look "green" but when you are driving with them I find they actually blend in better with my halogen headlights to create a more even color temp (gradient effect). They still look great going into fog or dust and have been nice offraod as well. You can definitely see the difference in output too. The moment I put them on I could see they were much brighter than the white with amber covers.

To me they don't come off as green really. They are a little more "yellow" than the amber covers over the white lights but not by much to the eye. (Check out my photos in post #785 here)

Rigid swapped out the LEDs and Lens for around $50 shipped. I paid shipping getting the pods to them and they paid to get them back. It was about a 2-3 week turnaround where my truck was without fog lights, but not bad. Also I apparently got like one of the first sets of selective yellow fogs because I did this the day they released and they shipped mine before many other here on this thread received theirs.

Let me know if anyone has any other questions about them. Happy to help out where I can!

    Sweet thank you for this.
yeah i had the Op modify the brackets i bought for them to accept the amber covers last year and i have yet to get the chance to install them. so i think it would make sense for me to install them first and see how they are rather than just put the brackets and covers up for sale and contact rigid.
    i did hook them
up to power to see how they looked and i did like the output.
going to be installing them real soon!
