I am surprised at the higher end models and add-ons at the local dealerships.

As it is I got my OR for $3500 or so off the MRSP, in the mid-30's. I think that's a decent price for what I got including tech and premium packages. When it gets above $40K that seems too much to me, but to each his own. If someone wants to pay that much...

Re' leasing I am leasing my truck because A) I have gotten into the habit of changing vehicles every few years and B) it is much more advantageous with the taxes and cash flow. The typical tax/license fee in NE is 8.5% for new purchases. With a lease, you only pay the taxes on a monthly basis for the duration of the payments. And no money down, monthly payments much less.

I realize the pros and cons of leasing, I would just point out in a state with high vehicle taxes, buying has a huge extra up-front cost that leasing avoids.

You must get a good deal, I have never seen a lease deal that didn't say something like this...There is always something down.

Saw a new Ford Expedition for 77K. Cars/trucks prices are crazy.

Money down on a lease is for suckers. NEVER put money down on a lease. IF the vehicle gets totaled you are out all the money you put down. That advertising is usual, but one can easily get $3000 off MSRP eliminating the down payment,

Those "deals" are hooks to get the "payment buyer" in the showroom who don't know they can negotiate a lease just like a buy.

Your precious Tacoma is selling for $3000 less than MSRP all over the place. Look at the buy thread here..Hell I got $3500 off my new 2016! That is usually the "down payment"

People routinely getting $3000 to $4000 off MSRP. You need to get out of your head the Tacoma is akin to gold bullion LOL That's yesterdays' news. Today the Tacoma has far more drivetrain issues, (hence the NEED for a $700 OVTUNE)

I was actually seriously considering a Gladiator before I bought the taco. 80K is an absolutely insane price for that truck and I doubt anyone will pay that. A Rubi that is pretty much loaded to the gills should only get into the 60K’s at MSRP - and personally, I think even that’s too high.

How did you like your GT350? It's a car that's been on my radar for a little bit but I've heard mixed things.

I know the Rubicon level of build is more money but not that much. Most of the ones on that list were in the $70k's. I'd rather buy another ZL1 for that much. I think the Jeep looks nice, and I saw one on the road the other day, but I can't get past the Mopar engine in it.

I did really like the GT350 and it sounds like no other American made car, but I would still own it if it was not a Tech Pack with no coolers. Mine burnt a lot of oil at 500 miles per quart. I went to Ford and said I would pay $12,000 to upgrade to another transmission and diff cooler, and trans cooler. But they said even if done by a dealer, it would void my warranty. So that was the last straw.

The ZL1 has so much more torque and HP and handles better than the GT350R. The dealers charge $20k ADM on top of full price. So no thanks.

So why are you hanging around? Looking to have your decision validated? I might listen if you were talking a Colorado. I actually almost bought one. And then remembered I was at a Chevy dealership. But it was a good value and a well rounded truck. I damn sure wasn't buying some warmed over international Ranger. Ford can kiss my rear. They neglected this market so they could "force" people into the overpriced F150, while Toyota/Chevy/Nissan stayed in the market the entire time.

My first vehicle was a Ford Ranger and I owned two F150s since. All were good vehicles. But killing the Ranger, then "bringing it back" with this floaty azzed excuse, killing their cars, and making an F150 you can "discount" by 15k and still make money? All the while turbocharging everything? Ford is DEAD to me.
