Hello, i have a 2005 toyota tacoma Pre Runner (2wd).
The dealer told me that i will need a new a/c filter. He said it is located in the back of my glove compartment. So, i opened it up...and there was no filter...just an empty slot. What gives here?? Does a a/c filter really go in there?? I searched the internet and this is all i found:
    http://www.filters-now.com/pdfs/micronAir/ty02116p.pdf
Is this a cabin filter??? Cause i could of swore that my model doesnt have one (a cabin Filter).
Any input would be very appreciated. God Bless

^ thats the best price ANYWHERE! The filter elements feel and look much different when you compare the toyota ones and these but at 4 bucks you can reaplace this many many more times/more often and still be better off!

It should, seen several '10 owners here confirm they had the cabin air filter installed. Just check behind the glove box to be sure...

I won't claim they are the same quality... as mentioned above they feel a bit different. But I've been using them the last couple of filter changes and noticed no difference inside the truck or in the integrity of the filter. I change them more often now, but at the price (+ shipping) I can swap them out 5x before I even approach the cost of a stock filter.

Glove box should have a strut on the right hand side that attaches from the dash to the box itself. It pops out on the bottom via a squeeze-clip. Once that's off you can press the sides of the glove box inward a bit (away from the sides of the dash) to clear the studs that hold it in and then lower it out of the dash.

Behind the dash you'll see a.... well, just look at the first picture in this post. The white, horizontal line with pleats is the cabin air filter. It just sits in an open frame over the A/C blower.
