I recommend a bit more skinny pedal at just the right moment so the rear end bounces up the waterfall :cookiemonster:

I can understand why you'd think that...it's because you choose to be wrong

Did Ballard Road (Forest Road 129) West of Fort Collins. It looks private from the no trespassing signs at the entrance but those are just for the property on both sides of the road not the actual road. Conditions were muddy with some snow near the top, all easily passable. It’s basically the only Forest Road up here not gated off during the winter.1826B6AF-7BE0-4502-8B01-7219F541EBAA.jpg

Warm sun, cool breeze, flowers blooming, and the smell of pine. Schubarth Trail offered some fun surprises. It was a good way to spend a Memorial Day.
    Here are a few pictures:

Schubarth has many Aspens and free standing boulders. The narrow sections had many low hanging branches. I unscrewed my radio antenna and stored it in the cab.

    Some good camping spots
    IMG_1901.jpg

Had lunch at this scenic Rock outcropping. The view was fantastic. Check it out if you haven't already.
    IMG_1902.jpg

There was a small water crossing
    IMG_1913.jpg

    And a little mud
    IMG_1914.jpg

As I looked out over the Air Force Academy, my mind thought about @303tacoma's Memorial Day post this morning
Veterans, thank you. I had a great day.

3" lift, 275/80/17, skids, sliders, scratches
7/1/19 - Chinaman Gulch in BV with the family

FYI for newbies - Chinaman is no joke! You will use your sliders and skids alot. Honestly the trail itself is harder than the named obstacles. If you are ok dragging over rocks and you have a good spotter you can probably make it on 33's with a locker taking the easier lines and some bypasses.

I picked a lot of harder lines and only got stuck on the stairs. Ended up high centered on my tc skid and had to use the high lift to get logs under the rear tires (both rears in mud). I started trashing my rear driveshaft before I even got to the rock pile. Twisted it trying to get unstuck on the stairs. I wouldn't recommend running this trail solo.

Overall I had a blast. Getting stuck sucked and took about 2 hours to get out by with my wife's help without a winch. We were tired and ready to get home so we didn't get any pictures of the last obstacle.

Didn't feel like take much pics because it turned out to be a waste of a trip and the small amount of money in my savings account for me.
