You could read that as timing the market, I am thinking asset diversification as a strategy but looking at taking advantage of opportunities when they arrive. Nothing different than buying the dip and selling on the bounce on your stock purchases-

Feds eluded to interest rate cuts which means bond could be moving up- Feds are just a little to Keynesian for me

 

If the Fed actually cuts rates, we will be in a recession by then or very close to it. Markets will be in turmoil by then. The economy is chugging along for now. Lots of overvalued tech stocks are getting much needed haircuts.

 

welp, the past few days have been fun with averaging down my position in UWT. If WTI futures hit <$50 a barrel, I will be buying a lot more.

 

This has to be the best week my portfolio has ever seen. Granted, it's just canceling out last week's losses, but this is insane. Glad I bought last week!

I buy when the money is available. I guess you can get lucky sometimes. My holdings of CVX and XOM are doing great, don't know what's up with ENB.

 

Yeah, I hear ya on that. If my rent was any cheaper I would throw a lot more in. Once I move into my house I'll be getting a roommate to help with my mortgage

 

So what is your read on the oil companies? with oil trending down. You guys buying the dip? Looks WTI hit some reserves in the Gulf.

 

I bought a little more on the big dip over the last few days. I have been trading UWT since I can't trade futures on my account.

 

Looks like the bear market is done and were back in a bull!

 

The market is thinking we will have rate cuts, which I find quite worrisome given the historical implications

 

My GUESS is we start up strong in early hours, then fall negative near close.

Anyone else wanna play?

 

I'll play, I bet we have a good day tomorrow since US and Mexico reached an agreement, and then we will go down later in the week on "renewed trade war fears [with China]"

 

Well technical analysis strongly suggests that the market will go up

Or move laterally.

That's why technical analysis is so incredibly valuable

They do have cool charts with pretty colors though

 

I think we'll hit ATH in the next 2 weeks, then down to 2200 by September or October

 

That is 2016 levels, you think it’s going that low?

 

I think well still be volatile due to the China trade war until then, but there will also be some other "event" added in that drives drives prices down lower

 

If were guessing, I my guess its a good day Monday and Tuesday will give up the gains...
