    And thats just 1 small river in 1 valley, tons of other options for getting out in the woods. The ease of access into the Cascades is really cool up here. I can be at Snoqualmie pass (3,200 ft) in 45 minutes from my house and Stevens pass (4,000 ft) in 90 minutes...
    Thats with no traffic though lol

    I live about 4 miles from a highway, I can hear the truckers pretty well, but there’s a lot of static. Not sure if that’s normal

    Receiving and transmitting is very dependent on line-of-sight, platform stability and the power/signal strength of other units.

    I've partner on a hill picking up 5 miles out, but at hidden fans with the same setup got about .5 miles range. Check your SWR to make sure you're maximizing your setup and reducing damage to your radio, otherwise, you can't judge it by who and how far you're taking.

    Any channel. I used an SWR meter to tune my antenna and my SWR on channel 1 is 1.1 and channel 40 is 1.3
