Is this the limit to higher rpm in the 1gr-fe, or is it that and the rods/pistons?

 

I went with the Eaton electric locker since my ARB has been a little wonky lately plus I need to relocate it. So I wont have to worry about air lines n shit

 

Yeah but let's be real here we are rocking a supercharger that is built off a Ford Lightning and Cobra. We are already Fordy as it is.

The computer pulls timing as necessary to compensate for all the heat soak.

 

I put supertech dual springs in my car. Nothing wrong with them mechanically, although they're overkill because I didn't increase the redline much, and now they're wearing out the variable mechanism in the stock intake camshaft gears and I need a $1000 to get upgraded ones...

I have Harrops in both of my 80's which have the Eaton mechanism. They're wonderful.

 

Both, plus springs.

 

At what point do we need the forged crank? I see a build happening...

 

Apparently the foam gasket next to our Intercooler is sold by the lineal inch. Odd. Anybody have a # for how much we need?
75 cents an inch but I'd like to get enough to have a spare.

 

I've seen 178° idling. It still runs.

 

Does it make sense to insulate our intake?

 

Anyone got the link for @Roostfactor pulley wrap mod. I got the pulley shaved down just need to see the mounting set up

 

I don't think it matters because heat will eventually soak through anything you wrap around it. Might delay how quickly, but I doubt it will make a measurable difference. My 178° was during a long period of idling while stationary. It would have gone way down had I been moving.

 

I can see that. With a slight air gap and reflective insulation things might change. But you'd have a seriously ugly intake tube.

 

Forged crank. We already need on. GB!

 

Get 6 of the smallest meth nozzles and install them across the tube and have them spray. Bam, cool intake tube!
