And the end product, nothing fancy but it’s good

I could probably fit 2 trucks in the driveway to do work. Parking in the street isn’t the easiest especially since my roommates probably need somewhere to park but it would be doable

The current draw of the winch varies with the load that it's pulling. Max draw is usually in the 3-400+ amp range, so fusing that isn't going to do much good. If it shorts after the fuse it's going to weld itself to whatever it's shorted to before the fuse blows.

I've never heard of a winch manufacture suggesting to fuse the power leads. Also, the winch pulls off the battery, so I'm not sure what fuse you're worried about. The alternator fuse is like 140 amps, so you'd have to be trying to pulling full load off the alternator to blow it.

    Perpetually.

    What you got cooking?

I was going to use a 500 amp fuse but thinking about what you stated got me considering the math. It has been a long time since my EE courses and I cannot remember the formulas and I don’t have the handbook of C&P. The cable is rated at 175 amps so a short would start heating the cable before the fuse would blow but the time lag would be very fast. As soon as the fuse sensed that short it would blow preventing a possible fire and a melted wire. Therefore an ANL fuse in the line from the battery to the solenoid switch makes sense. I may try a 400 amp fuse.

They were advertised as a little stretchy. Must have been more stretchy and i though a 12,000 lb strap would be
