So riding into work this morning I ride by Qwest Field (Seahawks Stadium) and notice a nice new truck in the events center. I ride around to get a better look after I notice the nice TRD logo on the bed, low and behold Qwest Field is hosting a "Constructon Expo" and they have a prototype 2007 Tundra on display. I'll try to get pics this afternoon on the ride home.

I look forward to seeing more about the 2007 Tundra ...

Is anyone else queasy about Toyota's trend to physically 'up-size' all their trucks?....

I'll see if I can get into the "Expo" and snap some more pics. I really want to get some from under the hood and interior. If I can and do I'll post 'em up here and on CT

I really liked the old tacoma size better than the new ones. I hope the new tundra is not too big.

Well on my usual route today I walked by a dozen 2007 Tundra's. They were in the Qwest Field parking lot with a bung load of cones set up. Turns out Toyota goes around from city to city to let the dealers drive them and kinda train the dealers regarding the trucks.

Well today I watched for about an hour as these guys beat the Tundras up pretty good.

What I got to see was them driving the Tundra's around the coned track with a trailer weighted down with 3500lbs and a 100 gallon water tank in the bed (full). They went from a dead stop to WOT and through a S-turn and a slight left hander followed by coming to a complete stop by standing on the brakes. Along with the Tundra's there were a Chevy 1500 a Ford F150 a Dodge 1500 (Hemi) and a Nissan Titan. that were going through the paces as well showing the dealers how well the Tundra stacked up against the rest of the 1/2 market. Well maybe stacked isn't the right word, maybe Dominated.

Talking to the gentleman behind the traveling roadshow they said they trailer all the other trucks around (kinda to show off the Tundra to drivers of other makes), he also said coming up through Oregon (hills around Grants Pass) to Seattle that trailering a Ford F150 he was climbing the hills at around 65-70MPH with the engine revving at 3500rpm and had plenty of power left.

Well according to these guy's the only other truck that came close to performance was the Chevy 1500. The Dodge (with Hemi) was underpowered and without ABS. The Ford was according to them "Way to underpowered" and the Nissan's brakes were useless with a load behind you. When it came to the stopping with trailer the Nissan ended up flying past the stop markers and the driver stepping out of the rig saying that he was standing on the brakes and they damn near went to the floor without slowing the truck down.

With load the Tundra took off like nobody's buisness.

    Some good 'ish!!!!!
