You would think that I would have a nice fancy pen because of my profession. Nope. My EDC right now is one that I "stole" from the DMV last time I was there. It''s just a cheap clicker that encourages people to sign up as organ donors.

Yeah man as a lawyer you gotta role into a meeting with other lawyers and whip out your baller pen. The pen is the new business card.

Hahaha! Man what a great scene.

I will say, my business cards are on point. Perhaps they could use a little more texture, but the color and font would meet Patrick Bateman's standards for sure.

That is exactly how I've done each of the dozen winch installs I've helped with. Solenoids are good but I've found it just as easy to hit a switch under hood when heading out wheeling and it's fewer parts to fail in the case I'll need them. Either way, leave the winch side of the cable extra long so that you can go straight to battery in the case the control fails.

It is generally possible to run a fat power cable safely with proper care and I typically use an abrasion and heat resistant silicone/fiberglass sleeve as well but redundancy is good when dealing with amperage high enough to murder you and/or burn your truck to the ground.

    Nice.

It is a measurement of wealth and at least one that you can control without lowering your standard of living. Don’t want to pay a lot? Don’t buy new expensive cars every few years. Would you rather live in MD and pay 3% of your income to the county every year instead? I did the math years ago and I would pay way more in MD. And that was with us paying PPT on an RV, 2 trailers, several motorcycles and several cars.

I would have had you beat if you posted this the day I drove to SOS Off-road Concepts in SC to pick up my bumper. About 1000 miles round trip in a day.

I spent a few bucks for a pen. Nice and heavy, has a glass breaker so I can punch out a window and through a Zombie skull in a pinch if needed. Not classy at all.

I did. At least VA charges the least for personal plates compared to other states. So the tread lightly. :) Of course a true believer would get some Sovereign Citizen plates and go full FTG.

Look at that subtle off-white coloring. The tasteful thickness of it.

First, I would never live in MD for other reasons...but that is also ridiculous. People shouldn’t be penalized by having to pay what amounts to sales tax on a vehicle every year if they happen to want to drive a newer car. Eh, it’s all moot for me anyway...I doubt I will stay in this state for too long post military life.

Good point about long winch cable for emergencies. Where did you get heat resistant fiberglass sleeve?

Any race supplier will have it so Summit or Jegs. There's standard fiberglass sleeving which is heat and abrasion resistant but I like the silicone coated stuff because it blends or stands out (I typically do red) more. Just add a little heat shrink to the ends to seal it to the cable.

Balling on a budget with some All-Poo standards I got from @ready6delta on the cheap cheap. @PyritePirateBill hooked me yo with some extended u-bolts for $free.99. Extended brake lines and 1/2” top spacers from Wheelers that should get me to 2.75” in the front of the Baja. I won’t be as cool as you yet, but it’ll do for now.

I also would never live in The People’s Republic of Maryland.

My point is every state, county, city etc collects taxes. MD does it via income tax. VA does it via PPT on vehicles, FL does via real estate tax. Some states don’t have one big boogie man to get annoyed at yet collect the same amount via nickel and dime excise taxes. When you look at total tax burden, VA isn’t bad. Unfortunately it will get worse in a few more election cycles but right now it isn’t too shabby.
