    Hard pass haha

Lame. Camping with no fire doesn't count

Man we always have a fire. More fun.

too late. We usually bring a propane one on our bigger trips. Well...Mike does.

We cook with it often. If we get in late, we won't do it. But that's about it. Its nice to have in the dark and keep me outside. Idk. Hanging out in the tent is so...dull to me. I only do that if its real bad weather.

gotcha. I got a HF US General cart 5 drawer with side table for that reason. Probably get another or two and a Yukon workbench/drawer thing. Mobility is nice and key for me right now.

Doesn't look like the ceiling would be tall enough for a lift?

    Can't build a shop?

Nice! Good solder makes all the difference. You using silver bearing since it's audio gear?

    Pretty much. Hybrid console setup.

Nah. Lot of that is snake oil. Just 60/40.

I am aware. Are your boards pads silver plated? If so the silver can leech out into the solder over time leaving you with a brittle joint. Using a <3% silver can mitigate that problem. And check out eutectic solder. Goes from liquid to solid without a plastic state in between helps reduce cold joints.

    Stuff. Also things.
    What Mark said.

I’m betting those pads are just tinned, though. If they are silver plated, SN62 is a good option. Has just a bit of silver in it, but it solders just like SN63, which is my favorite for stuffing boards.

Thank goodness you don’t have to do lead-free. That shit sucks.

Pretty cool you’re doing your own console, though!

Interesting I'll check it out. What I really hate is the rosin haha scrubbing the boards is a pain.

Pads are gold actually. That is pretty common in good audio gear kits. So that helps.

Pads aren't tinned just gold. Most good audio kits are that way. The best connections for cables are gold too. No corrosion that way.

And yeah lead free is terrible haha

Yeah I have a pretty good plan. I have about 8 big audio kits to do as well including a few compressors and eqs. The console is kit based too so I can slowly aquire parts for it. It's not a full on console by any means. But will have channel strips, which are these, insert points to gear, and a summing backend. Either way by the time I'm done and have a master chain I want. Be a LOT of analog in the signal chain which is what I want. Plus all stepped and easy to recall. Key in a hybrid setup.

Probably take 2-3 years just to have a basic setup in terms of channel count. The backend summing is the most expensive part.

Still should be cool and hopefully help get some good freelance jobs.
