OK, so im not going crazy as i thought haha. I im curious as to how far the throttle plate actually opens, almost to the point of pulling off the intake and have someone hold it WOT (engine off obviously).

I wish there was a Degree value within the logs, or an actual throttle plate percentage value, I would expect to see given throttle pedal mapping, when the accelerator pedal position is at 100%, so is the throttle position %.

    @HPTuners any insight on this?

From memory, my logs showed 84deg at WOT. But.. My throttle mapping was set to a max of 86deg. I think there's additional mapping/modifiers/limiters in place that aren't currently defined.

However, as you said, It would be helpful to add the PID's for all cals to be able to log throttle angle (in deg).

Which would make sense to me have it set to 84* max and have it open to an allowed max of ~81 deg for a 3deg little buffer so it doesnt hurt the servo / plate / tbody housing due to overshoot. Thats why im wondering if it the Throttle position data point that currently displays in Percentage should really just be degrees.

What PID did you use to get "actual degrees"?

Minimum 0 maximum 85, above 85 will cause a fault,
requesting throttle above....89.09 (I think!) on throttle tables = immediate throttle fault on start up.

You can change where that fault value is. That was done as part of me changing to a 86deg max.

    Curious why?

Almost every DBW setup out there are usually limited to 0-85 or 0-89%.

Going from 85 to 86 won't make any power, but the further you get from that 85 the higher chance of a throttle fault.

If you are experiencing less throttle than you expect to get at full accel, check your load tables

    sigh.. ok.

    (not directed at justDSM).
if the issue is throttle angle being reduced or not hitting target angle, changing fault angle limit is not the fix.

Just so I understand, where was it suggested that changing the fault angle limit was the fix to throttle angles not reaching target?

Thats the thing, i dont know what the actual throttle angle is as all loggable values within VCM scanner are percentages, none of which relate to the throttle plate angle in a percentage manor that would make sense at WOT

If 81* is a demanded max standard allowed angle and absolute max being 84* (having a 3* buffer for overshoot), id expect to see some percentage related to Throttle Plate at 81/84 = 96.4ish% but that is not the case.

Even without he motor running, you can hear the throttle plate open and close, but it will only ever show a % of 80.8-81.2 on my truck

EDIT - im sure its opening up all the way and not a problem with the truck, just an issue with logging and data we are seeing out and how its being interpreted by HPTuner.

I think currently we do not have access to all of the load tables. (with HPTuners)

How about unbolting the throttle and looking at it with the accelerator pedal pressed to 100%.
