I really enjoyed watching these stupid lifted trucks get stuck in the sand. Do you even crawl control bro?

    MGM fam,
How do you guys wash your trucks? Bad idea to take it through one of those drive-thru washes? Main concern is wanting to avoid swirl marks. What would you dude suggest to avoid that?

I wash mine at the house, section by section. Rinse, wash, rinse, then dry with a chamois to avoid any dried water spots. I will take it to a hand car wash every once in a while to get a better clean but I do most of it myself. I have taken it to the drive-thru ones a couple times and didn't notice and swirl marks. Might be the carwash you go to? Idk, hope this helps

A couple from my quick trip out to Canyonlands. First one is near Factory Butte. Second is on Elephant Hill (first time I put her in 4wd).

Very bad idea. I'm a pro detailer and Toyota paint is some of the softest (easiest to scratch) I've ever dealt with. You can always go the two bucket wash method with a foam canon route, but personally I hate it. It takes a ton of time and there are just better ways these days. It also depends on how dirty your truck gets.
Check out a product call Optimum No Rinse. It's what I use professionally. I believe it's about 20$ on Amazon for a bottle that should last about 20 to 30 washes. I use a cap full with 1 GALLON of distilled water. You just use a soft microfiber towel (or a few), soak it in the ONR solution, use the towel to apply the solution to the paint, and dry with a soft microfiber towel.
If you do happen to go mudding or offroading, it's worth it to just invest in a cheap electric pressure washer, a foam gun, and your choice of soap. Chemical guys makes some awesome car soaps. Hope this helps.
