I’ve never seen tires as chucked up as the KO2’s you gave me. KO2’s have pretty thick rubber as it is.

 

I'll take that as a compliment

Also for what it's worth, my STMaxx aren't nearly as chucked up as the KO2s were and I've been using them the same way. I think KO2s have a knack for chunking.

 

My front two tires are relatively chucked up after some guy cut me off on the interstate going 70. Hit the brakes so hard my tires and brakes were smoking. Wish I had my dashcam at that time.

 

“Are you sure you don’t want 6?”
“No they’re going on my toyota”
“Oh man those oughta dig, we usually sell them for duallys”

 

I’ve only made my brakes smoke one time, looked kinda cool coming out of the steelie holes.

Didn’t smell great though

 

Worse smell you can encounter when working on these trucks is old used gear oil.

I have a jacket I had to throw away because after washing it several times and soaking it, it still reaks of gear oil.

 

takes a lot of energy to crank over an engine with 300+ PSI of compression and run the glow plugs, especially when it's cold out

 

My god these robocalls are getting worse.

My trick is to say silent, since any normal human would say hello. This damn robocaller had a recording of a real human saying “Hello” and then after I responded a robotic voice commenced telling me about my MasterCard account.

Did they lock up? Does your truck have ABS?

Although even with ABS they'll still skid, I think KO2s use a really hard compound that is durable to a point but once you pass that point they break apart relatively easily.

 

No ABS. I just stood on my brakes till I stopped. We were doing about 70-80 when this guy cut me off all the way to a full stop.

The Tundra brakes definitely helped.

 

Yep, KO2s skid easily, compound is too hard. That's why they last long.

 

Unless you chunk the shit out of them lol.

 

I've chunked a set of KOs before, didn't make them grip any better, just got louder. But I remember KOs having better traction than these KO2s.

haha yeah I mean 'chunked' like pieces of the tire tread falling off in small chunks. Happened a lot on both sets of KO2s I had, from offroading.

 

Oh no, I know what chunking tires mean. My tires used to get chunked pretty bad running in the desert in Barstow & Lucerne. For some reason I thought you meant it helped with traction instead of that's the reason why they didn't last long.

I just got home from work & my eyes hurt. That's my story & I'm sticking with it!
