    You only have about 1/2 of that right. Stanley bought Craftsman 2 years ago. They were able to buy it because Sears had already run the name into the ground. All tool companies do business in China. Most consumer goods manufacturers do for that matter. When Stanley purchased the rights to Craftsman, they pledged to bring a lot of production back. It will take some time though as capacity in the US just isn't that high.

    It's worth noting that any half decent(that includes HF) precision measurement tool has a declared accuracy range. So, talk of "pretty accurate" and "spot on" aren't so much terms with any qualitative value to them.

    HF calipers are good enough for what most of us on here will be doing with them. As for the folks that are working on things that truly demand a higher accuracy, they likely already know all of this...probably have a machinist tool chest, or at the very least know why they spent the extra $$$ for a tool made by LS Starrett, Mitutoyo, etc. Not trying to correct anyone, it's just worth putting out there that precision measurement isn't really traded under a "good, better, best" moniker, so much as it is sold by the required accuracy. Also, never heard of a "reference comparator"; usually gage blocks, or something of the sort, would be used to reliably verify accuracy.

    Fun Fact:Black & Decker was commissioned by NASA to build the first cordless drill; it was used to drill holes in the moon. They’ve...err, come a long way? Sorta?

    For years the tales of “Choppa’ Chris” lived as a legend until “Crazy Mike” aka: @Tacomania got his hands on the grinders and convinced people to trust him.

    Those little pics were so handy I ended up picking up the larger full sized handle picks they sell. Very handy.

    Should have a C clip or something holding the chuck in, you just need to find a compatible chuck and replace it.

    Whether that’s worthwhile.. dunno.

    It was well before we found out that the owners long travel kit wasn’t going on that day because he had only purchased one axle.

    I had the same thing happen on my Makitta 20V compact. I was able to send back for repair. It probably is worth taking it into harbor freight and see what they might do for you. Might give you a new one or might give you a discount on the bauer/herculues line

    I have the tile saw/brick saw. Its ok for $280 im remodeling a bathroom shower enclosure. A Dewalt is $800.
    Solid, but its motor feels like a 1hp motor, and its blade speed are a bit slow. Otherwise, solid enough.

    A thing or two...
    Haha. Nope. I went to a mod day, and when I pulled up, the host and another guy were hacksawing off the swaybar endlink ball joint that goes through the spindle. I asked "is the nut seized on?", and they said "the nut just spins and won't come loose". My next question was "did the allen hole strip out?", and they just looked my like "what?" :confused: o_O They had no idea about the allen key hole to hold the ball joint while breaking it loose and were just hacking away.

    :rofl::rofl:
