Mine's deleted also with the HP Tuner. I didn't even have a problem with mine but got rid of it because of threads like this one.

Just happened to my Taco, 2012 DCSB, 180k miles. The part is also on national backorder, but available on Amazon and eBay. How does the HPTuner work as an alternative?

The entire SAI system can be removed without CEL/Limp Mode.

My only concern with fully deleting the secondary air injection is CAT life. Does the startup fresh air injection extend cat life any reasonable amount?

I doubt it. It's an emissions device.

Still would need to pass emissions inspection. Doesn't seem like a viable alternative if it's put on to reduce emissions

I'm not the expert on this, but the additional airflow across cold cats will have no effect on their lifespan. Excessive heat is their enemy.

What would I do to the open ports after disconnecting and removing it?

Gotcha, thats about my ONLY concern with getting rid of SAI.

Here in CA, as long as you dont have a check engine light during smog, you are pretty much good, they might pop the hood and do a visual check, but they are looking for things like aftermarket intake / no cats.

Does that device let you modify things like TPMS as well?

You can do a lot! But TPMS stuff isn't there, that's in one of the "body ECUs".

You can change shift points, line pressures, throttle mapping, fueling, ignition, etc.

For the most part it gives you complete access to the ECU.

    Too few to list.
I was just going to turn mine off and still leave it on the truck for smog reasons as they do open up the hood when they do smog.

It's still cheaper than a direct SAI delete kit, let alone replacing the whole system that may just fail again. Here in PR they don't even hook your car up for "emissions tests", lol.

Id be inclined put the blockoff plates inline in the event of a SAI valve failure there isnt exhaust blow back that you dont know about. HPTuner from my understanding simply turns off the CEL / reporting of any SAI failures, not the actual function process? or does it turn it off from running all together if left plugged in?
