    Either way you gotta recovery, replace the parts, pull a vacuum then recharge.

    I don't mind if they can recover the R12, then it isn't garbage. If it all vented to atmosphere then it's lost money

    As long as there isnt a leak you can recover it then reuse it. If you have any leaks then its contaminated. Probably wanna recover inter a new tank unless you know the recovery tank is clean.

    Unless you going to a shop, then most will just recover then charge with new

    Nah drove it to my local AC shop. The dudes been doing this stuff for 40 years and hasn't tried to get me for extra stuff before.

    I don't have recovery equip and don't really want to invest in it. If it turns out to be the expansion valve I'll have him keep the R12 and I'll go replace it myself. He's always been good about just letting me do my own repairs since he's super busy anyway

    We charged in Yermo, CA and it was 107. Surprised it’s actually not that hot here.

    Humidity sucks. I’ll take dry heat any day.
