I have an AGM one. It's a rebranded Deka. No complaints over the last year.

Is it your first AGM battery?

hmmm I'm not sure I want the AGM in my F250 because my understanding was that they take a beating from the diesel starts but I am likely wrong.

I had an old optima red top. Not a fair comparison as it came with the truck and died suddenly wheeling, but not sure how long it was in there.

The tailwaters is fishing well from what I've heard, but it's going to be shoulder to shoulder there right now due to lack of other options. I usually avoid it as I would rather not fish next to a bunch of other people.

Most everything else is full runoff, and the high country is still snowed in. :annoyed:

Ok, so 1st gen - front suspension issue....

    HALP/Advice requested
I started a thread last week about how my 1st gen OME suspension wasn't centered in the coil and potentially causing clunking noises.

I am headed out on a 1500+ mile trip in a few weeks and am now getting paranoid something is going to break in the middle of nowhere...

The suspension should still have a lot of life left as it only has ~27k miles on it and isn't leaking oil or anything, so I don't necessarily want to quickly commit short notice to coilovers, although mid-travel is my long term plan.

I am pretty sure that I didn't forget to put in all the pieces shown on the diagram - which is a known cause of the OME shock not being centered - but I can't really pull the front coil/shock out until at least Sunday... Then I am hoping to find someone with a legit coil compressor as I'm not f-ing again with the shitty unsafe parts store rental that doesn't even put the safety pin over the thick coil diameter...

So, anyone have a legit spring compressor and can help me out diagnose what is going on? I have the skills and tools to remove the parts - I just don't want to mess with the unsafe spring compressor to disassemble in order to diagnose what the issue is.

    OME Parts Question
If I do get it apart and realize that I need new bushings/spacers, does anyone know if I can order just parts for that without buying a full new set of front OME Nitrocharger 90004 shocks?

This doesn't seem like they will work with my 90004:

Do you have spare cheap/free parts lying around?

If it turns out that I just need some parts (stem cushions/washers/bushings), does anyone have some spare front suspension parts they can lend me if I will have a lot of downtime and need to do errands to finish up my maintenance before my trip?

Not yet. I guess I could disassemble my truck in my driveway, load up the front suspension on my motorcycle and ride the 45 minutes to his place...

    What hasn't been modified?
You shound be able to take it apart on the truck, same as second gens.

Put the truck on jack stands, then compress that side with a jack. Loosen the center stud bolt and lower the jack. Once the coil is decompressed you can take the assembly out.

If I had to guess the top hat is worn out or missing a part. That Shound be somthing you can get a new top hat from the part store.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that. After I did the suspension on my truck using those crappy spring compressors and swore them off forever, I helped my roommate at the time installed the same OME suspension on his 1st gen Xtracab and we used the method you talk about. Thanks for that reminder! I'm going to do this on Sunday.
