    hey everyone,

I'm sure this has been discussed before but i couldn't find the thread as it's a bit over whelming amount of info to dig through.

has anyone removed the little triangle logos on the sides of the shell, mine is a century shell, but i know leer and others have a similar one. I know I can use a heat gun and remove it, but it looks like it might show the small dimple that the manufacture made for w/e reason.

if removing isn't the best option, has anyone painted them? if so, what kind of paint?

    2nd questions:

sliding window that goes from cab to bed, i leave it open 90% of the time because my dog is usually in the bed. however, with bumps in the road, etc. it doesn't stay open 100% its usually like half open/shut. any suggestions to keeping it open? don't want to tape it or anything because it looks shitty lol

final question, my truck bed is basically my dogs room, i put a small thermometer back there and it gets hot, like 85-100+ when its warm outside. I bought 2 really small desktop fans that I can clip onto a bed rail post, but idk if that will work well enough. Anyone have any other pro tips or cool shit you've modded for your pups?

    Thanks!j1IUov1aS9+K38qyK9hBnQ.jpg Odi+eTcuQzqprVbPdwdVaQ.jpg 26214688_Unknown.jpg

I've seen the logos removed on ARE toppers (?) and that little triangle indent is left over, doesn't look bad. You could always try PlastiDip over it. Not sure what, besides a rubber product like that, would adere and not crack away from the badge.

You can put a clear command hook on the sliding window, with a piece of velcro going to the drivers side of the window. Open window, anchor velcro to command hook and let velcro achor that to the carpet on the topper. Should be very basic, KISS and reversible whenever needed.

Concerning temp...you could try closing the topper windows, so the cab AC can get back there, maybe add a fan between the two to help circulate. You can add reflective tape/shades to the side windows to help keep the temp out back there.

You could try a home-brew AC unit (fan ran off truck power, to ice chest rigged up for a hill billy AC setup)...

    Good luck.

right on. thanks @jmanscotch appreciate it. ill have to look into the ac unit thing, but i'd rather not have a ghetto rig back there haha, hopefully the fans work well enough.

Nice ride! We have similar taste in Mexican food...
Home Depot sells mini swamp cooler type deals that draw water from a bucket and can be powered by a portable drill battery. My friend brings these to festivals. You could drop one of those in there.

Lots of dollars and no sense...
Nice set up. My dog would love that but his butt goes in a kennel. I use the milwaukee battery operated fan that has 3 settings. So long as the dog has air blowing on them they should be fine. I've also put ice in his bowl and put the fan in front of it. I don't ever use my AC but you could use a bike tube to seal the gap between the cab and cap and put your AC on blast back into there. That way you don't have ambient air affecting the temp.

I took the side emblems off my 2010 ARE shell- there were no dimples behind it. Obviously YMMV

I posted about your last question not too long ago. The reflectix really works well and keeps the camper cool for my two huskies.

No problem! Really cheap solution, there are also cooling mats you can buy at Walmart and Ross, Amazon, etc.

They work pretty well but be weary of your dog is a chewer like mine

Your truck looks awesome. I notice it is all black. I am gonna state the obvious. that black cap makes it about 20 to 40 degrees hotter inside than a white cap. I don't know how you could do it, but perhaps somehow cover the top with reflective material? I know it would totally destroy the good look you have going there.

I had a LEER that they left those emblems off of from the factory. There was a triangular divot where they should have been.

Once I got a dog I never used my cap, 10 years with just the lumber racks with a plywood piece for shade augmented with a towel on the sun side, hot, cold, or wet she always rode up front with me, hair and all. I miss her, no one ever fucked with my truck. 3EEAF41E-7864-4867-B743-65DB2A01BE43-309_1dfc78f59e85775850831d4d5496af623801ff33.jpg

My dog is a frenchy so he gets hot really quickly. I keep a 1 gallon jug of water in the freezer for long excursions and leave it for him to lie next to. I also have USB plugs in the back with a small fan that can run off of battery power for days.

If it hits 100 degrees I would be worried about killing the dog. With all 3 windows open it still gets that hot?
