I’m just trying to stay thankful that all the trucks are pre-wired for intermittent wipers, you would think Toyota would just pre-wire all the Tacoma’s for fog lights cruise control and other stuff like that,

Can anybody with an SR access cab utility model or just access cab SR confirm if they know that they are wired for an XM antenna ?

I’ve always gotten based Toyota Tacoma‘s and I usually pick up a take out radio out of an SR5 and add XM but on my 2015 I had to run a separate antenna.

Just bought my first Tacoma about a month ago. Didn't realize at the time that it didn't come with intermittent wipers. Seems like that would be pretty standard but here we are.

So forgive me if I'm just repeating what has already been said but is it as easy as just switching out the wiper stock with one that is intermittent capable?

Also, here's a pic of my SR so far...many mods to come. Thanks!

Nice truck. I finally got around to doing the intermittent wiper mod 2 days ago, part cost $130. It took me about 15 minutes to install, pretty easy. The whole intermittent wiper arm is swapped out. only wiring is 2 plugs.

Welcome. Just follow Corey @moe2o4 write up mentioned in the post above on it and you will be fine. Just be very careful in there, theres a lot of plastic tabs. Just be delicate. Luckily nothing broke on mine, but there is the potential.

My other annoyance is the lack of plug & play hitch wiring adaptability. It was a simple connection to the taillights on my old 2000 Chevrolet S-10. But I’d take this Tacoma any day over that old Chevy.

I may do it. Eventually. But then I was in my car the other day and I never could get the interval right. I fiddled with it about as much as I would the "mist" option on our cheapskate stalk. So I'll just live with it for a while. It doesn't rain THAT often.

Still think the look of the SR is quintessential Toyota Pickup. I don't care for the fender flares at all. Minimal badging. Just a good clean look.

Those T4R wheels look good on there man! Good call!

Notice any drastic difference in acceleration or braking?

Well I got an SX model so I got the flares...

But yeah, it was especially funny to me to have a truck come from the factory with things that others have to spend money and time to get and do. And it's the base model.

I got no chrome in the interior, a black 4x4 and Black Raised Letters on the tail gate as my only badges. But the best point of all is a four cylinder that I know is bullet proof and has all the power I need and can get me as fast as I want to go.

The SX was gonna be my truck as soon as it came out. It was everything I had wanted.
