Is there a certain smitty bilt in regards to pounds 8K 10K 12K? Also what is the weight difference with the aluminum version?

    Go with the X20 10k w/synthetic line.

Fits like a glove and can be had for a fair price.

Steel streamline is ~67lbs....believe the Aluminum is around 28ish lbs...It's very light, I can easily pick it up with one hand and do curls.

EDIT - Eddy has a few Al streamlines in stock, ready to ship out!

Yes, the hoop is optional and all the other cutouts are standard. The aluminum ones in stock do not have the bars on them, if I recall correctly.

You can price it out on the website, it has all the options you want.

    Edit - it’s $1070 + shipping for aluminum, no hoop, add line-x.

There was a 20% off sale that just ended, and I do not know when the next one is. There is no TW discount code unfortunately.

Me. Put me in the driver's seat.
OK, I finally got to installing the aluminum slim line I ordered late last year along with the Warn VR-8000S (old model) low-end winch I picked up fairly cheaply due a model change in that line. On the upside of things, SOS is very responsive and the bumper is beautifully executed--welds to die for; very precisely shaped, well packaged. On the downside, the pdf instructions are abominable--although that is offset by some good humor (Jay Leno chin, indeed!). It's long past the day when muddy photos, typos, and scant explanation are considered industry standard, and the instructions don't remotely approach the quality of the hardware. In retrospect, were I in an energetic phase I could have knocked it out in 2-3 hours. As it was, it dribbled out across a day and a couple hours, in part because I had to go get some graded washers, in part because I had to spend a fair amount of time figuring out what "give a tug" actually meant in getting the front clip off. Easy-peasy once you see how its done after the fact, but not so easy when you can't see the mounting clips. Broke one on the driver's side, which fortunately was repairable.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with the setup in terms of appearance, quality, and especially weight--we do a lot of long distance driving in the truck, and I have a Jeep Rubicon that I use for serious back country work--this is a family camping/commute rig, and I wanted basic self-rescue capability. So the set up should work well--IF, and I repeat IF, the mounting points are actually sturdy enough to take an 8K (and possibly double-line) pull--I'm very skeptical that they well, and the very thin aluminum on the bumper does not give me a lot of confidence. Any lateral stresses, I'm very concerned about distorting bumper and/or mounts. I really expected to see a mounting plate substantially thicker than what this is, but then the mounting area is effectively reinforced by the lower half of the bumper. But the three-bolt mounting flanges can be bent by hand with small pliers--even with the plating effect of the bumper mounting point, I'm just not convinced yet that they're up to taking any significant stress. I've mounted similar winches on 90s era Cherokees and 2002 Expedition, and both included substantial reinforcing brackets for the bumper-frame connection and I'd feel better with that kind of backup. But then, I expect SOC has thoroughly wrong this design out, and the proof will be in the pudding. Even with my uncertainty, I'm feeling a lot better with a winch in place.

Of course, the one thing I did not get a good picture of was the cut you have to make in the bumper, and again the instructions are simply muddy and confusing on that point. Basically you just follow the crease around (reciprocating Dremel saw worked well; run slow to keep it from melting the plastic). That was the biggest time waster, as the instructions seemed to suggest that you had to make a corner toward the bottom. Ultimately, though, it came out looking pretty darn good, and the addition of the lights is a blessing indeed--I commute from Flagstaff to Phoenix weekly usually, and the Rigid lights increase my chances of seeing the elk dance on the centerline before they wind up in my windshield.

    "Jay Leno" chin removed

Pull the side air dams--wiggling a bit works

Bumper unpacked and set out--trying to figure out what the cut will require.

This is the driver's side bumper where it wraps around and behind the headlight. The black clip pulled off the sheet metal, where it shouldn't have.

Irregular hole is where bolt broke through. Able to repair with Gorilla glue and a washer.

Apparent misalignment with mounting holes--the bumper had a slight bend in both ends from shipping (although beautifully packaged) and the bumper mounting bolts had been bent by pulling the plastic stock bumper off.

Also, the holes bored in the SOS bumper were slightly cone shaped--so the hole facing the mounting bolts was smaller diameter than the opposite side.

Rats--largish mounting holes and stock nut=perilously little grip. Time for a trip to the store get some grade 8 washers. Add one hour. Ahem.

looking vertically at rear winch mounting bolt--both the rear bolts have access holes, but the holes align poorly. Shallow socket helps a lot here.

First setting of the winch--now to figure out where to put detached control box.

Hole vs. nut problem solved--lovely grade 8 washers. For a thousand plus bucks, maybe tuck those in with the bumper?

OK, almost no clearance between spooled rope and the weird cooler thingy--which is when I finally figured out why the "coolant extension" bracket is included--it mounts to the driver side of the round cooler and shoves it back a critical couple inches to gain some clearance here.

No project is complete without a demonic cat peering at you. Actually she is gentle, puffy, and full of purr. But that lighting....

Finished, with 4 DOT Rigid Leds (fog outboard, driving inboard) that I repurposed from a prior vehicle.

Thanks for the compliment and sorry for the delayed response... haven't been on TW for a while!

I think I ordered with just the LineX, no need for both. / UPDATE: Just checked my original order, LineX only, no powder coat.
After I took off the bumper and the black insert (jay leno chin) on the bumper, I just followed the line where the black insert was with an oscillating tool. The included black edge trim worked great and made it look factory. Honestly, SOS did a great job with the design of the bumper. Follows really close to the factory design. I've had multiple people ask me if the bumper was stock! lol. If that ain't a testament to the design and quality, I don't know what it.
As far as a winch is concerned, I haven't got one yet. I may need one eventually so this design was perfect and will be an easy install when the time comes. IMO, WARN has fallen from their perch. Quality is not what it was and prices are laughable. I like Superwinch or Smittybilt and would choose a synthetic rope.

Just installed my Streamline aluminum with Smittybilt XRC 9500 lb. winch. Not too difficult and the fit of the winch was great. Cannot detect any difference in the drive or detectable weight. Height seems to be the same on the Pro suspension.image060419.jpg

Do you have a gap between the slimline bumper and the piece that you cut? Especially around the turn? Did you do anything to secure it better to the underbody as it seems like the cut piece flops a little near the underbody?
    Thanks for any insight!
