At the gun range I used to belong too they had a 200 yard rimfire match once a month and most guys had 5-20 or 6-24 power scopes so they could see impacts in the dirt next to the steel silhouette.

There are two main reasons. 1st is that it has the same reticle and about the same magnification as the Viper PST gen II that is on my full size 6.5 Creedmoor Ruger Precision Rifle. 2nd is that I am shooting steel at 300-400 yards with it and like the magnification.

Its great. It shoots sub MOA groups out to 100 yards, and I can hit a 12" steel plate at 200-300 yards all day with the right ammo and conditions. 40 gr bullets get pushed around a lot at those ranges.

1976 336 30-30. It came with the Wideview rings and an old Bushnell Banner scope. I switched that out with an older Leupold VX-2 2-7x. This will be a woods deer gun for me.

For the long range stuff i am using hi velocity stuff, and for shooting groups it really likes the standard velocity rounds.

Nice man, yea those are awesome, especially sans those pesky import marks. I always liked the Lugers, even bought one of the reproductions they did in the 90s. Beautiful gun, if the price keeps going up I wonder if we will see people trying to recreate a technical package. Gonna have to keep bothering Hill and Mac lol. That said I’m interested in the stg reproduction in 762. Maybe this year ?

@Kwisak Long story short my Dad thought the Luger was stolen. Then when my Grandfather died my Dad found his old footlocker ( I have that too) and asked me when I came home on leave if I could pick the lock. 6 months later when I opened the footlocker the luger and paperwork was in the very bottom of the footlocker and had been there for 40 years in my Grandfathers attic. That was about 30 years ago. When we opened that locker.

Not much I remember just using a T shirt and some Hoppes #9 to clean it up. Now it is wrapped in grease paper and in a hard plastic case. I have the holster too. My Daughter has laid claim to it after I am gone. My Son could care less about it.
