Or working in a factory where most machines run on steam. Gives a whole new meaning to "wet" heat.

That house? Probably a million degrees.
But really it was like 75°-80° outside and hotter then that inside. They were old people, and old people love having the heater on.

Just standing in that room i was dripping sweat

It’s pretty bad. Ive walked out of many homes because of roaches. And some homes have small kids.

But the worse thing is when a fridge stops cooling and they leave everything in there for a week vs cleaning it out before i come

I think some are a hybrid? Idk. It’s probably a nice cross over for daily driving and occasional ski trip to the mountains or camping trip to koa lol

Yeah buy they dont have a repair man coming to look at their fridge and try to fix it.

Im not touching the inside of the fridge if its like that. Ill sit there and wait while they clean it or reschedule the call to give them time to clean.

One time I canceled someomes warranty because i went 3 times and told them they have to clean the fridge before i can work on it. They never did

Wtf? That suuuuucks. I'm mostly in middle class to up scale homes. We're expensive to use for repairs.
But dude, I get a call for a whirlpool cabrio that just sits on the 'sensing' light and doesn't start cycle. I get to address and it's a trailer park... I call office quick and was like do these folks know it's a hundred bucks just to diagnose the problem? And they said yeah. So I go in and it's an older Hispanic couple. And come to find out old man had same name as me but in Spanish and we hit it off, like usual. Everything going along and I figure out it's the shift actuator that has the built in optical sensor for main control to know how fast/slow drum is spinning, etc. Wife comes running into room(it's been about 20-30 minutes since I started) and was like we have the 5 year warranty plan! And it was still under warranty, so I stop and put it back together (remember I'm not paid hourly, I'm paid a percentage of repair bill) and tell them to definitely use the warranty cause a repair with us is likely gonna be around 250-300 bucks. I told them I wasn't gonna collect the service/diagnose fee either and this old man was so cool he comes running out to my truck waving a 20 and was like please at least let me buy you lunch. Yada yada yada.
Dude the poorest people are the most giving and the richest are so dead set with death grip on their money.... Makes you sick. But the poor humble people are usually so gracious man. I love them and would work for them all day long if I could make money doing it lol
