Don't buy a 2016 or 2017 Tacoma. Wait until 2018.

Only problem I have is a bed alignment issue, being taken care of. It's a better truck all the way around compared to my 2015

 

Granted I only have 1400 miles, but I have yet to find a single bug

2018 is just as disappointing. transmission is terrible. I'm really starting to wonder why this truck is so popular. I miss my 13.

 

Dang, I'm just now reading this after buying in April 2017.

 

hope you're having better luck than i am. transmission sucks! clunks downshifting, jumps up in to 6th gear too fast and then chugs. has an annoying drive-line vibration that toyota is aware of but has no fix for. A toyota rep came in to drive my truck and said yeah this is what Tacomas do. WTF?

I waited and bought a 2018 and I can confirm, that it too, sucks. Mine is a manual and after the clutch accumulator delete and getting the latest flash from Toyota, it's somewhat tolerable. But it's still miserable to drive.

 

Guess cause I went from a 09, 4 cylinder to the 6 is why I think my 17s fine.

 

I went from an '85 SR5 4Runner and I'm still disappointed in this truck. It would be great if it just ran right. They done it in '85 and even '87 with a carb, but they can't seem to do it now!

What regulations decided to make the thing borderline dangerous to drive? I haven't drove another manual that's this bad?

 

You compared it to an 85 vehicle, shit was different then. Sounds like you should sell it take a loss but save a life. I am happy with mine, did I like my last more, yep but life forces us to make decisions and I wait the best truck out there for my needs, hope you can do the same.

 

Thanks, I just expected it to run and drive like a normal car. My 2000 Subaru drove perfect, girlfriends 2013 Subaru drives perfect, 2016 WRX drove fine. Guess I just expect too much for damn near $40k? My mistake. And one I won't make again.
