If I measured right, and the measurements on the tents website are right, it should sit fairly level with the cab so I don’t have to worry about catching it on trees, while having about the same wind drag as a canopy

Also I’ve never seen anyone do it like I did using unistrut so we will see how it holds up. Maybe people don’t do it because they’re afraid of welding galvanized metal?:notsure:

Smittybilt. I ordered it right before memorial weekend and they said 2-3 weeks so anytime this week or the next. I’m going to Idaho this weekend so I’m hoping it comes in before then but I doubt it

Fingers crossed for ya! I did finally head up further down passed the Evans Creek cut off over that one way bridge you mentioned at the last meet up, some pretty cool spots up there! Planning on taking the rig up there for a night of camping somewhere a little quieter than around the lake or the creek

Yeah there’s a good bit of people that go up there. Unfortunately there isn’t a ton of spur roads to camp on up there, I prefer greenwater or going over chinook pass and camping near natches.

Did you try to find the clipper mine while your were up there?

No, I didn’t know such a place existed. I just went down random roads with no real destination in mind..just did a afternoon trip.

Ah it’s a pretty cool little mine you can walk in, doesn’t go super far but it’s a neat stop on your way up to the lake.

There’s also a lake on the forest service roads by wilkeson (take a left in town by the train car) way up at the top, but it takes quite a bit of pin striping to get up there. I’ve never had my Tacoma up there but I did it a couple years ago in my Jeep. It has a pretty cool island in the middle of it, although you can look down on it from the road you can’t drive all the way to it so it’s more of a pack in tent spot976BDD51-A34A-4995-B043-66EDF95A4E85.jpg

Nice! I’ll have to check that out! My truck is riddled with pin striping so I don’t really care about that. Worth a day trip at the least.

If you ever want to do a day trip up to greenwater and do stampede pass or check out any of the roads up there hit me up, I go up all the time just to drive around.

Good thing you told me more info about ARB bumper install..... if that’s the route I go I’ll have to buy the earlier model, the ‘12-‘14 won’t work for me because my bumper is cracked right where I would have to cut it.

Earlier model I’d have to cut the grill supports and such..... not sure what the best route is

Even if your current bumper is cracked only a bit of it is visible, but I think if you have the time/patience working an early 2nd gen ARB bumper onto the later 2nd gens would be worth it. I’m not 100% sure what all goes into it, but it’s been done.
