    Roost,

I think we work with what we have and unfortunately we didn't have much to work with when I started my journey. I had the 2010 model which ECU connectors were either unavailable or not for sale by those who had access to them.
Unfotunatly I am not one who likes others tuning or even touching my vehicles for obvious reasons. I took it upon myself to take what was available and make it work. If HPTuners would have come out earlier I would probably gone the HPT route as the Haltech Elite 2500 was not cheap. Make no mistake about it, the Haltech is much more robust and can do much more but you do lose some OEM functionality like cruise and traction control. I learned so much along the way and had lots of fun with some unsuspecting victims. All without hurting my engine. Time and patience are key. You go romping on a forced induction engine when you aren't tuned properly and you will pay dearly. Nothing different with HPT. They have blessed this community with a tool and it is up to you to learn how to use it. Haltech is much different in this way because you can actually call them and the will help you through troubleshooting if you have an issue. It is always nice to speak to someone who understands the product and can help you. HPT on the other hand will NOT offer any advice on tuning. I understand this approach but it doesn't help the people trying to learn. This community is a great one and you all need to stick together. @JustDSM has given you all a GIFT!

Personally I want to thank @Torspd for all of his help along the way when we were trying to figure it all out with the Haltechs! If it weren't for @Torspd I may have done some damage. It was great bouncing ideas off one another and he is also who invited me to this site. We keep in touch and have never actually met in person. One day we shall have beers ! You guys are a great group of people! That is why I am still here even though the truck is gone.... :( I miss it dearly!

Thank you for you kind words @Roostfactor!

Let me know if I can help any of you out, and GOD BLESS AMERICA! :oldglory:

    Agreed my friend.

FYI, I did make a special trip down to Houston to hang out with @Torspd, @loginfailed, @Lucario Runner, and @Biscuits.
    Beers and Absinthe were involved!

Ok guys, I have searched, and read back through some of this thread but still need to know what I need to do if getting the tuner from HP. Can somebody point me in the right direction to purchasing the items needed to delete this freaking abomination that is on our truck? I am not the most mechanically inclined but do all my own maintenance items and really want to do this before I get stranded somewhere.

    Thank you

If I get a chance to today I will pull the stock exhaust manifolds out of the attic and lay the system out on the ground and away from the engine. Then I will check fitment of the block off plate WITH the secondary injection tubes in place to see if the stock studs are long enough to compensate for the additional (block off plate) thickness.
No promises as I must get a y-pipe finished today so I can ship it tomorrow. Thats my #1 priority currently.

My SAI parts are in storage so it will be a day or two before I can lay this all out for the lesser experienced folks. :D Sorry for the delay, but y-pipe production comes first.

    You da man @JustDSM!

I was going to lay out the entire system so the lesser experienced folks can see what is involved.
I pulled my OEM manifolds and put two block offs on it (to mimick the OEM tube) with plenty of threads left so it should work without issue but I want 100% verification.

without digging through that thread can someone confirm that the tuner works for 2012s also for deleting the whole system? I see only 13s and up commenting here and I know they work differently with 12s at startup and later years at cutoff.

    Thanks guys

I can confirm that HPTuners can assist you with SAI on the 2012.

@mabepossibly you're welcome to send me a PM anytime with questions regarding HPTuners. I'll be more than happy to answer any questions and get you setup with a tune if that's ultimately what you're after. Just let me know what you're looking for.

Ok yeah I was just looking to see if anyone else has actually done it for a 2012 on here and can confirm before I talk to them.

About to go take my Hewitt bypass off as I finally have an appointment to get this whole system replaced under the Toyota program tomorrow morning. Guess I will be limping all the way to the dealership.
On a side note mine "went out" back in 2015 and I only had like 36-40K miles so I have been running the Hewitt bypass since then and now have 87K miles.

Thought I would have them replace everything and throw the bypass back on and just save the "new" system for years to come since I know it will fail again at some point.

So, sorry if this is lengthy, hoping you guys might have some helpful insights! 2015 V6, S/C Taco TRD Pro, after a few years CE light came on and stayed. Upon getting my inspection, they diagnosed the dreaded P2443 code. They replaced the whole pump under warranty. Within a couple days, CE light back on (I kept driving with it for the year).

Fast forward to next year, time for inspection again. Again, pulled the code, P2443. I told them they replaced the pump already once (same place, different service rep) they insisted on replacing the pump again. Again no dice. After a few more trips they diagnosed as excessive carbon buildup in the intake manifold (result of short drive cycles to work), cleaned under warranty. Again, CE back on later that day.

Obvs in a forum about the P2443 code, plenty of you have had similar issues, what do you recommend? I saw the posts about the tuner and bypassing the system. I’m not super mechanically inclined (sorry in advance) and I’m out of confidence in my local dealer/service dept and inspection time is upon me again. Recommendations?

Same boat here, 2015 Pro. I’m on my third set of pump/valves. They replaced both each time I had it in for service. However, my problem was never the pump, it was valve failure each time. If they haven’t replaced the valves, my guess is that’s your culprit. knock on wood I haven’t had an issue since.
