I love my morimoto 35w hid kit, works great and doesn't blind people in my experience.

Lift kits and engine mods are NOT illegal
Unless you live in CA or some other fubar state.

Lifts are legal as long as the truck conforms to road use rules, engine mods are legal as the parts conform. HID and LED lights are specifically on the books as being illegal due to light patterns. And the ticket is a moving violation or a defective equipment violation.

Here in Texas it is a fail on yearly inspections......

Lemme know if you find where to get the Philips kit as I don’t believe Xenon Depot carries them anymore.

They do, they just had a short period when TRS took over that they didn’t offer it where they changed the design of the base to the same as the XD bulbs.

I meant since February the 4300k bulbs have almost doubled in price.
Bought my set from them for $75 shipped.

    Now, $134.99 shipped.

Likely new TRS ownership. Standard buy out practice is "righting pricing".

Led but buy the right ones. The better ones put the led very close to the same position as the stock halogen. My leds have a sharp cut off line, don't blind oncoming drivers, very reliable and have better than stock light output.

I saw your reviews but the graphs and charts made it much easier to understand. I'm absolutely horrible with anything lighting and electrical. Price spike sucks. I think I'll stick it out see if they go down. Might just bite the bullet and buy em hut I don't need it just yet

Sharp cut offs and not blinding other drivers are due to your 3rd Gen headlight projectors, not your LED.

Went with LED first and thought it was great, then after a while I noticed how short the throw was. Switched to HID and will never go back. Moved my LEDs to the high beams.

If I had $1 for every time I’ve heard this I’d be rich. Just look at the projection data in the charts provided earlier.

So what's your point? They work extremely well and better than the stock bulbs. I've gone done the hid road and yes they are brighter and work better than led bulbs but were unreliable. The bulbs had a warm up time that I hated, I had to find room for the ballasts and the wiring harness, ballast would keep failing and if I left the lights on while starting the truck sometimes one of the ballast wouldn't start up and I would be driving around with one headlight. I would actually kept a spare ballast in the truck because of the high failure rate.

I've never tried the XV2 Philips bulbs but if the longevity of the bulb is the same as stock it would be a good choice. I have tried other brighter halogen bulbs but they seem to sacrifice lifespans over performance and burn out quickly.

What high failure rate are you talk about? I've been running my HID setup for well over two years without a single issue.

I have the new morimoto 2stroke 2.0 in my low beams. They give a nice cut off, really bright & matches the drl’s spot on.

Over the years I've tried many HID kit in various vehicles and within a year a ballast would fail. Just got tired of spending money on new ballasts and and installing. I tried to buy more expensive kits figuring I would get a better quality set, nope. Just got tired of changing ballasts, installing additional harnesses and dealing with the delayed on which was always entertaining when using HIDs in the high beam location.
