K&N makes the TRD air intake

So I was at the dealership today asking about the TRD air intake. He told me that the K&N makes the TRD air intake.

Anyone else heard of this?

 

Afe made the old one and like he^ said aem makes the new one

 

Guess he didn't know what the heck he was talking about. Thank God for TACOworld.

the new one? yeah it throws the air fuel ratio outta whack

 

I would think all CAI throw off the air/fuel ratio. Our trucks keep the air/fuel ratio at a constant at all times. With out a tune, you would be adding more air to the system and the ECU will add more fuel to keep the ratio at that constant. You end up having alot of fuel that never gets burnt. Or so I have understood. If this is wrong, someone please correct me so I don't put forward wrong info any more.

 

here's an intake comparison that Gadget from URD did with 3 different intakes on the 1GR-FE on a dyno...he explains that the MAF sensor error is due to the fact that the gen2 TRD CAI (made by AEM) is making the AFR run really lean...take a look...
