Too big. Bad ass but big.

As far as your vans 4x4 system I'm familiar with it. I still have no clue why the hell Toyota ever put just 4 hi in any of those years. Find a manual with a t-case and swap it out. Although for just cruising around what you have will work just fine. It looks like it's coming along really well.

Power wagons are way neat, a lot of people think Tacoma’s gas mileage is bad but the power wagons are another story.

Idk what they were thinking when they decided 4hi only in the auto. Its what ever, it will dp its jobs on fire trails and small obstacles which is all that van can really do. 4lo will be cool but not something i will have soon unless a manual van part out pops up or one is in a local junk yard

Mine came from CA, it's not a bad place to find em clean. They're a bit more expensive, but that's how you get one that someone hasn't completely neglected. AZ cars are rust free sure, but Toyota paint sucks and leather and vinyl crack in the sun. Pretty much everything pre 2008 here that has been in the state for a decade looks like it survived a nuclear blast by the skin of it's teeth.

Both the 80 and the 100 get awful mileage, they both weigh a fuckton, they both have the aerodynamics of a brickwall. The 100 has a more modern feeling interior but the comfort level is about the same to me. Road manners with an 80 and a 100 are both about how much money you have to spend. The 80 has almost nothing alignment related to worry about and just asks that you replace the bushings in the arms every 100k or so to keep it from wandering, and maybe refresh the steering damper. They're both robust though the 80 is clearly built to take a bit more of a beating with its gear driven steering pump, 8q oil capacity, half radiator size trans cooler, full float axles with front and rear locker options, and let's not forget the ball vent haha. I have zero complaints comfort wise about driving the 80 long or short distances, it is comfy, it has driver room, the seats have more adjustments than I have names for, and it has a surprising amount of factory sound deadening for a Toyota. The 100 I'm sure has stepped that up quite a bit too I'd imagine, but when you're comparing two flagship SUVs that might get a bit hair splitty. They're both going to be pretty comfy in general and way more comfy than even a 3rd gen taco. It all comes down to what kind of capability you want out of them and how reliable you believe the extra luxury items will be in the long run with the newer models. I chose to go for the first year of the cruiser that offered triple lockers, the dohc I6, and full floaters. But that keeps me away from the uglier dash of the 95-97 while giving me the more modern engine and options package and one of only two years that came with the Hino bus transmission.

Not even haha. The rear of a 100 flexes pretty good, but stock the front is sad and they sit very low.
