What did you pay for your 1st gen?

just bought this one owner 2000 SR5 4x4 2.7 manual with 73k. got it from a friends dad. everything works, no leaks, but has a broken leaf spring. pretty sure I stole it for $6500

 

Man, I got ripped!

Then again, it's a 5th car and as a hobby, I couldn't justify spending more for a vehicle that I expected to let sit.

Paid $5500 for my 2001 Tacoma Prerunner with rear locker; 235k miles on it at the time.

3 months of ownership and I've put over $3000 into it and 6k miles.

2000 prerunner extra cab 234K no dings or dents. good interior, needed tires and wax job, runs good. purchased on 5/35/2019 for $3000 with a full tank of gas.

 

I would feel like you paid too much. The California market is definitely 10-20%higher than most of the rest of the country.

I just got back into the Taco World yesterday picking up a 2004 Tacoma with 177k. It has had the frame replaced and has been very well kept by the previous owner. I paid 8k for it just. (6cycl, auto, 4x4, TRD, many new parts). This is my 4th Taco (17 TRD PRO, 11 AC TRD SPORT, 02 Reg Cab, and now this pretty little lady in Red!)... Be talking to you all again soon.

I put 177,000 miles on my 96. I am pretty sure the guy who bought it is not on Tacomaworld. He didn't even have a vehicle before he bought my truck! He had just retired as a police officer, and since he drove the cop car home every night, he had no other car. When he retired, his dream had been to buy a motorcycle, which he did, and which, he rode up on to my house when he was looking at my truck. He said that although the motorcycle had been his dream, he hadn't thought of the fact that there are times when one just needs to have a truck, and that was why he was looking for something like mine. Of course, there were no other trucks around like mine, so he bought mine!

Paid $7500 for my 02 TRD off-road earlier this year. Had 108k. I've since put about $3000 into it with wheels and tires and replacing basically the whole suspension.

 

I just bought a 2001 2wd ext cab with 69k original miles for $5400. But it was in Ohio around here the prices where almost double that for the same truck. Don’t understand why, but soon as I checked it out and found out what shape it was in I pulled the trigger brought it home

 

That is definitely a very good price. I hope there will be one in my local soon haha. Very nice and clean truck!

 

I picked up my 2wd 2.4l for $4k. After a year I had to replace the clutch ($700). The rest of the repairs I've done myself as they've popped up. With the amount of work i've done with this truck and what I continue to do I almost feel as though the truck has paid for itself.

Bought new in 03. 3.4 double cab sr5, 5 miles. 28K sticker price got 4500 trade on a 91 3.0 Toyota truck

 

This is what mine looked like when I bought it on 3Dec19 it’s a 2002 2.7l w/156k miles paid $1k.

 

I bought my 2004 double cab prerunner in August. Super clean truck with 39k miles for 14k.
