Faux Grill caution

I was driving down the highway and saw something fly over my hood and bounce off my windshield. At my next stop I checked to see what it could have been. To my surprise this is what I saw on My eBay faux grill. Just know you get what you pay for. Less than 2 months old.

 

Did yours have screws in the back?

 

Looks like the Os are way more aerodynamic than the Ts, Y and A.

 

Interesting, I’ve had mine for nearly a year no issues. Pretty sure you can order replacement letters tho and use super glue on them this time.

 

No issues after install with the faux TRD Pro grilles on my previous two Tacomas. Now that I have a SR, I don’t think I’m going with a Pro grille this time around.

 

Yeah, I wouldn’t either. The SR grille looks a lot better than the cheese grater on TRD OR/Sport.

 

Well, thats TOO bad it didn't last very long.

Approaching two years on mine, no issues. Pressure washed almost weekly too

That’s how you get around trademark infringement.

 

More than likely, the surface wasn’t cleaned well enough for the 2 sided tape to hold. On the replacements, make sure to clean AND use rubbing alcohol to clean the surface. Use extra grip 3M double sided tape and that should do it.

 

I would use 2 part epoxy if the double sided tape fails..

 

No screws just little hole with studs on the letters

 

It could have been inferior tape as well.

 

I second using two part epoxy over CA glue (super glue). Two part epoxy will not fail if used properly.

 

Exactly how mine came with two T’s tapes up in the small bag. It also came with a “limited” emblem.

 

I super glued mine on.

 

There’s a tariff joke in here somewhere....

Just get the X-Trek Grille insert instead.
